Great scope for the money

by -

I was pleasantly surprised when I got this scope. The reviews on it were good, but still had my doubts, but I took a chance. The glass is very clear, better than I expected at this price. The illuminated reticle is great, even in bright sunlight, if needed. Buy it. You won't be sorry.

Great Burris scope!

This is my first scope and I am very happy with my purchase. The scope is just as described on the website and functions as intended. The 11 brightness settings are great, although I cannot imagine ever using the brightest settings. The “off” feature between each setting is also very useful. The magnification is easy to focus and sharp at each stage. From an aesthetic standpoint, the scope is very sharp and I like the matte finish with bronze lettering. The only knock I have (and I’ve seen other complaints online) is the battery cap is almost impossible to remove. The edge of the battery cap is extremely thin and very difficult to remove for the first time out of the box from the factory. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this scope especially for the price point. Primary Arms had fast shipping and their customer service was great at providing delivery status updates.

Different Strokes Different Folks

I have both this and the raptor ffp 1-6 from primary arms, and I consider them equal in glass. Places where the PA wins: 1x feels more natural, the reticle is pretty dope, the turrets are tactile, comes with caps, and the field of view is wider. Where the burris wins: the reticle is easier to be precise with at close ranges, the glass is somewhat clearer - particularly from 2-4 (I use 2-3x quite a bit), has a calculator available that can plug in the bullet to see where the bdc lines up, and has a built in throw lever which really speeds things up.

I have this on my ar15 and the PA raptor on my lr308, and I'm quite happy with both.

Battery install

I bought the RT6 because of the great reviews from other sights and the reticle fit the bill. I gave it 4 stars because I have not zeroed yet. I wanted to write this because of one complaint I continued to see for the RT6 was opening the battery compartment on new arrival. I had the same problem, tried everything and couldn't get the battery compartment open, then I tried pushing down with my thumb on the battery door and twisting, amazingly it came right open.
Good luck and good shooting!

Best Value Award

This somewhat budget optic performs surprisingly well. It lacks fast dialing, a mil/mil option, and a locking turret. It won't compete with a Leupold MK6. But at 1/6 the price, it comes surprisingly close. The glass is good. The reticle is excellent. I never dial this thing; I just hold and use the BDC. I'll likely buy another.
