Ratings & Reviews
Pretty freaking good

This upper feels like a mid-engine sports car. I know that may sound like a strange analogy, but there is very little polar moment of inertia, it just points where you want it to, and does so very quickly. Lots of little details, like staked gas pin hex bolts and dialed in sights from the factory. Very clean pin and weld job, better than other companies I have dealt with. When I cleaned the bcg before using it I could tell it was test fired, which in my experience is a very good thing. It is a complete package at a fair price. Btw it is a mid length gas system, not a carbine, and the bolt is a semi instead of M-16 cut. Not that it really matters, this is one of those rare value driven uppers where the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.
Get a ton of bang for your buck.

I’ve taken this upper out to shoot a couple times now and it’s been great. Feels very nice and manaverable, looks good, shoots good, and not a single reliability issue. Would definitely recommend for someone who wants a great feeling good value target or defensive rifle.
Very nice for the price

1. I would like to thank primary arms for the fast processing and shipping,I ordered it on wensday and got ir here the next day(granted I did pay the extra 20 for next Day shipping because I wanted to have this upper before Easter..

2.The upper is fantastic and a huge deal, just like everyone else said the sights and bolt are like $300+ by itself..
My barrel did come with marking on it "Troy 556 1:7"..everything looked great no blemishes EXCEPT The bolt carrier group, just like mentioned by the other reviewers, the BCG was pretty rough and not as slick as other bolt carriers that I have had..no big deal I'll still rate 5stars....nice pinned and welded 14.5in upper
Nothing even close in value

Phenomenal deal. The sights, BCG, and muzzle device is about a $300 addition, so you're essentially only paying $150 for a high quality upper. You can't even buy some no name garbage for that.
Only complaints are the BCG has a really rough finish and there are no barrel markings anywhere.
Took her out today and she ate 200 rounds of Remington UMC with 2 different P Mags and 6 old, beat up GI mags without a single malfunction.
Didn't do any accuracy testing, but I was grouping at about 1", standing, at 50 yards. I would be willing to bet this is at least a 1 MOA upper with good ammo and a bench or prone position.
Absolutely top notch quality

I bought this upper as opposed to a more expensive option, however was unsure if I was going to be completely satisfied. Well...I can say this is an affordable top notch option, that will not likely remain affordable long. I don’t know how they did it, but Troy nailed the quality for an awesome price point. If you are on the fence, Trust me Troy delivers on this upper. And as always, awesome shipping speed Primary ARMS.
Tier 1 quality at bottom of the barrel pricing

Super high quality. With the included bcg/sights, it drops this down to a $250-300 upper. Any other lower in this price range is going to be garbage Chinese made stuff or really basic. Impossible to beat this deal. I looked for over two months and didn't find anything close. You can save $20-$30 by buying some off brand with cheap handguards, 7075 upper, low quality barrel and no sights.
Two complaints however. 1. The finish on the BCG is super rough and gritty. I'm probably just used to old marine corps A4s that have a bunch of rounds through them that made the finish smooth though.
2. There's no markings on the barrel. No caliber, manufacturer, or twist rate anywhere on the barrel.
Will update with a range review in a couple of days.
So Good I Bought Two

This upper has been great. To start it looks really nice, no flaws in the finish anywhere. You can see where the break was ground down on the muzzle break, but only if you're looking for it. Sights are nice, rail is solid, and the whole package is a good deal.
The 11" rail is perfect, light, and without all the bulk. 14.5" barrel is great, and if you've got to have a welded break, might as well get the most super fly one around, you can see the flash out the sides and the smoke roll in on itself.
I just ordered a second one. Also, Primary Arms ships fast, and most importantly, gives a rip about its customers. Regarding another purchase, emails were returning in twenty minutes, on a Friday at 5.45pm, and phone calls were made to me, out of their own concern, to make sure I was happy. Kind of takes you by surprise these day, but sure is welcome. Thanks PA.
