Ratings & Reviews
Great value. As one review said, the picture on Primary Arms is incorrect, the top rail runs fully on the top. Bear Creek Arsenal cuts cost with this product by using parkerizing instead of nitride. I have yet to have one issue with this upper. The BCG is not tops but it even comes with an O-ring on the extractor. I give it a five stars for the quality considering the price.
Great bang for the buck
Great upper! Not the best. But mine is running reliably. They cut on costs using parkerizing over nitride, and even the BCG isn't tops, but it goes bang every time. The BCG even comes with an O-ring in it. Great for a budget/semi-budget build. Also it says in the description it has a pistol length gas system, it is actually carbine length, as the specifications clarifies.
Great value...but not like the picture

Wanted a complete upper to finish off my pistol build and had a friend recommend BCA barrels so I thought I would give this one a shot. I got this right before prices went up and paid $249.99 plus shipping and got it in under 3 days. My only concern is that it IS NOT what is shown in the picture. The complete upper I received had a rail that ran all the way across the top of the rail. Not the segmented one as shown... Kind of disappointed. But the fit and finish is well done on this product. Five stars on the product....4 stars for primary arms not having the correct picture for the product.

I purchased this upper when it was on sale. It was reliable and accuracy at 100 yards was around 2.0 MOA with an optic. However the rail is not milspec. I was unable to mount aftermarket flip up sights. This includes Troy industries battle sights or Magpul Pro. I contacted customer service number provided and was unable to get someone to answer the phone. I had to send an email instead. I waited over a week for a response. I was told they would forward my concern to the engineer. The company did not offer to swap out the rail or offer any type of resolution. Buyer beware!
We will see how customer service is...

I figured "At the price you can't go wrong!"
I may have been wrong. We will see how their customer service is. Tried two different magazines & two different factory loads but this upper would not function reliably. Would not feed well. bolt would not close completely most of the time. Most rounds would jam on the feel ramps. If they went past that they wouldn't go far enough for the bolt to close without forward assist. About half the brass had the primers blown from the case. Many of the cases that did fire showed deep rotation marks on the base.
On a much less important note rail was so badly out of index that I had to move the rear sight completely to its full adjustment one way to come close on windage at 10yds. I called Primary Arms who had me call BCA who sent me a return label. It should be there about now so we will see how they handle it. I will try & post a follow-up. I gave it 2 stars for fit & finish but nothing overcomes lack of reliability.
