Ratings & Reviews
The least shiny and slick NB BCG out there.
by chris -
This BCG has functioned fine so far but the finish on this Anderson is very strange. It looks nothing like a NB BCG, appearing more like a silver car finish. The strange thing is it will not polish to a shine no matter how hard you try like most others will. The finish is also not as slick feeling as other NB BCG's I own. Even the $80 PSA BCG's shine like a diamond after polishing. I am skeptical of the NB on this BCG. If it truly is a NB coating it should polish out like any other. Also the staking job on the gas key isn't the best out there.
Not a bacd choice for a budget gun or spare but...
I really hate to leave negative reviews so ill start with the pros first. I bought it because it was a cheaper NiB bolt and i didnt want the traditional phosphate. It is fairly easy to clean which was expected and i have had no issues with functionality thus far in the 2 years and hundreds of rounds i have put through it. It even went a period of 8 months without being cleaned despite multiple trips to the range during that time.
HOWEVER, a few months after i bought it i noticed that the finish was chipping away, especially on the underside of the BCG. I continued to use it and 2 years later it still functions but the chipping is gradually getting worse however it doesn't seem to be effecting the functionality of the rifle so until then it will remain in the gun and i will carry the spare i bought. still irks me a little though. I will be buy a Ballistic Advantage or Fail Zero next time around.
Runs dirty, runs dry

I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about with the "finish" of this BCG. Just because you can't get it to a mirror finish again does not mean it's non-functional. This BCG has run through my custom built AR for about 600-700 rounds without a single drop of gun oil or lubricant in the upper receiver, no malfunctions and no concerns. I even left my gun intentionally uncleaned between several sessions and still had no issues and no failures. In fact, my accuracy has improved with this BCG, not saying its the BCG but that's a pretty good side effect.

Stop being a perfectionist and take the BCG out to the range and shoot with it, that's what it's designed for, not being easy to clean and pretty in your hand. Does it cause failures? Does it easily disassemble? Does it meet mil spec standards? No. Yes. Yes. Nuff said.

Couple that with the sale price of $99.99 and I would gladly buy one for any AR build unless I was running suppressed and needed more gas tuning capability.
Worth spring the extra money??

I previously wrote a review on the BCG, I've. Come to realize that this BCG has a huge gas leak where the gas key meets the carrier. My rifle has not functioned properly since I have completed the build an I found out 2 days ago that the gas key is my problem. Hopefully customer service will help with this issues.
Good for price.

Shipping was fast. The finish was smooth&clean. However extractor pin was extremely tight to remove. After 120rds cycled through, went to clean it an I have tried everything but it has stains that will not come off. Which is why I'm giving a 2 star.
Concern for the finish
by Wilson Hines
The carrier functions fine, but I'm concerned with the finish. it isn't polished like my FailZero and Aero BCG's. Those BCG's are almost like a mirror finish and are slick. This is not slick.
Jammed extractor pin
by Neil Beaudry
As soon as I got this part, I disassembled it for inspection. The pin holding the extractor was extremely tight (it took a punch and a lot of hammer force to remove it). Once I got the extractor removed it took a fair bit of filing and polishing to get the pin to slide properly through the extractor. The bolt seems fine now.

really nice BCG for the price. Looks and feels just like a Fail Zero at half the price.
Anderson NIB BCG
Great price, functions perfectly, cleans easily, slick.
Good looking BCG but Nickel finish started to chip
Purchased this as a backup BCG with the Nickel boron finish. Functions fine but after only 15 rounds the finish on the contact area next to the gas key started chipping off.
