Good Pins, Bad Screws

by -

These are definitely not KNS quality. I'm not a brand snob, I just expect my parts to function. That said, I got mine on sale for 15 bucks. At that price point, I can look past the fit and finish. The button head screws that came with my 2 sets were garbage. The heads stripped out immediately and the blue goo was useless. I hit up my local orange box store and grabbed some new screws (Socket cap M3-0.5 x 6mm) . Perfect fit, .39 cents a bag. They stick out a bit more, but it gives my lower more of an industrial look, plus it gives my finger a place to rest away from the trigger. Also, they are plain allen key heads, so no weird star or torx bit to strip out while tightening. I don't have an ambi bolt release on this particular AR, but from the looks of it, the socket caps will be in the way if you try to use one. All in all, they work as they are supposed to, after spending less than a dollar on new screws and I already had the blue goo in my tool box.

Trigger/Hammer Pin Set_ Anti-Rotating

after noticing one of my rifles having an issue with the Hammer Pin out of place i wanted to add this kit to my rifles so i recently ordered 2 of these kits to fix both of them and found them to be VERY easy to install. i had absolutely NO issues with the Torx Head screws. as a matter of fact by ordering the 2 kits it gave me 2 tools to install the screws with, and i didn't have to look thru my stuff to find the correct Torx Driver for this job. i did add a small dab of Clear Nail Polish to each of the screws to assist in keeping them from backing out, even though the screws do come with a dot of Blue thread lock on them. obviously if you do not have the tools inserted fully into the screw heads it could be an issue but i didn't have that problem. now i won't have to worry about a pins out of place any longer.

Well worth the price

the time to get my other wrench out of the tool box and use it on the opposite end screw head to counter the tightening force instead of just holding on to the lower and then the supplied torx wrench wasn't square with the screw head.
I looked high and low on PA's website and on Guntec's website to find out what the diameter of the pins were but never found it. It's not on the packaging either. So for those of you still wondering the pins are 0.154 so you can use them in both 0.154 and in 0.156 holes if you like. They really need to add this to the description.
As for the quality like I said, I am pleased for the price. I like the addition of a screw in "bullet" shaped piece that you can use to guide the pin into tight holes and make it easier to align the trigger holes with the receiver holes. That was a well thought out item.
I would buy again.

Well worth the price when on sale.

Out of the 4 screws (torx head) I had one of them strip out. Not a big deal. It wouldn't have happened if I had taken the time to get my other wrench out of the tool box and use it on the opposite end screw head to counter the tightening force instead of just holding on to the lower and then the supplied torx wrench wasn't square with the screw head.

Hard to go wrong...

The install was smooth and without issues, and took less than five minutes. Using the brass point, I tapped them through in place of the original pins using a plastic mallet. With a little bit of care, I had no problems with the screws provided. Using a wrench on both ends, it was easy to tighten them. Primary Arms, as always, providing the goods with top notch customer service!

Screws did not strip out.

I bought these on sale. I read the other reviews and was leery about the screws. So I made extra sure they were completely tight. I only used one set so far but it worked fine for me. Screws tightened up well did not strip out. On sale and a good price.

Awesome set

I got these for my build, they work perfect, I had to remove them once to realign my trigger, (Fostech echo sport) no stripping or any issues. I highly recommend, plus PA is knocking out of the park on ship times

Screws were substandard quality

by -

Fit and finish for all but the screws were good. 2 of 4 screws had no threads whatsoever! Quality control is lacking from this manufacturer.

Very bad screws

by -

Screws are very soft and strip easily. All four of the screws I received had the torx hole strip out even before the screw had bottomed out. I thought maybe the torx tool I received was bad, but I switched to a professional torx driver and no, it's the screws. Terrible steel. Avoid these!

Not what’s pictured

by -

This is the second time ordering these pins. The first time I got what’s pictured. The second time I got something completely different. Primary arms confirmed there was a generation change in design. The change was in the bar manufacturing process. Before there were radius’s but now they are laser cut and have very sharp 90 degree edges. Quality is definitely poor. Contacted primary arms about this situation. Their reply is I can return them. Now I’m stuck paying for return shipping. Thanks for offering to pay for return shipping especially when you advertised something inaccuratly.
