Out of Spec
by David C
I had the opportunity to purchase this, changed out existing bcg, went to range and nothing but problems. The shoulder (counter sunk) of carrier for the firing pin is about 1/8" too shallow. Will not hit primer of bullet... I will update once I contact Primary Arms and/or Odin Works to see what can be done
Nice upgrade over milspec
by Sean
Nitrite is much nicer than phosphate, although the finish quality is not quite as nice as other nitride bolts I own. Still looks/feels like it will be easier to clean. My reason for 3 stars is the firing pin retainer clip holes are not quite right. I'm not sure if they aren't lined up properly, or if the "funnel" on the inside of the BC isn't machined properly but simply replacing the pin back into the carrier was a major PITA. Should't be difficult at all. Had to use a tool to push the clip into the second hole from the firing pin opening. The clip is pretty jagged as well which doesn't exactly help. Haven't fired yet so can't comment on function.
Great for 223 not for 300 Black
by CRM
I had a lot of feeding issues with my 300 blackout upper I built. I had to rack the charging handle after each shot like a straight pull with supersonic loads. And after screwing with the gas block and gas tub again and again I finally figured out that it was the Odin Works bolt carrier. After I swaped in a Rock River BCG and the upper ran 100%. I tried the Odin BCG with 223 and it ran fine just not with 300 black. So if your building a 223 AR you should be fine with this BCG.
Didn't work for my pistol build in 223 or 300blk
by Josh Childers
As noted in another review it seems that the firing pin retaining pin holes do not line up. I tried this BCG on a 7.5" pistol build and had extraction issues so I got the BCM extractor spring upgrade then had failure to feed. Tried it in a 300blk upper and same issues. Swapped it out with an unmarked BCG out of my diamondback db15 rifle and it shot flawlessly so I know this BCG was the problem. Can't speak to how it functions in a full size rifle but it's a big negative for a pistol. The finish is a little splotchy as well.
A nice BCG for the money ...

I'm a bit confused by the negative reviews for this BCG. Threw it in a .223 build with a 14.5" BCM barrel and an eclectic parts mix. Have about 200 rounds (all reloads) through it without a single FTF, FTE, or any other issue. It's a very good deal for the dough, IMO.
Bad Batch of BCG's
by Bryan
I purchased two of these BCG's, long before any reviews for this product had been posted on PA. However, after reading the reviews I noticed a common theme. Both BCG's had firing pins that were completely off-center and I never got a clean strike! They continued to shadow the primer and after repeated FTF's, I returned them to Odin Works. I also had to deburr both firing pins and replace the retaining pin on the extractor, on just one. It seems as though a bad batch of BCG's, made it pass QC! However, the Customer Service at Odin Works was absolutely Top Notch. Odin Works took every possible step to help, and were always professional. Odin Works replaced both BCG's, and paid for all the shipping costs, to and from! Thank you Odin Works....and especially, thank you Cody @ Odin Works! The two Stars are strictly for the awesome Customer Service.
Perfect
by The MC
Worked great for me. 200 rounds no issues. All round fired and ejected no issue. Im buying another. Also, super easy to clean the surface due to the nitride. The only issue some might have is that they have purposefully (I spoke with them) not aggressively staked the gas keys. If thats what you want, look elsewhere. But, seriously MPI/HPT nitride bolt, beyond mill spec steel, a for currently $100 bucks. Whats not to like?
Works with my ODIN barrel
by Jacob -
Decided on this BCG for my first AR build because it was on sale and I am using ODIN Works barrel, tuneable gas block, and gas tube.
Tuned the gas block, and everything is great.
No Issues with this Bolt.
The coating is slick,
Coating is coming off after 500 rounds where the carrier resets the trigger. (I may have been running the gun a bit to dry)
I would definitely get another one.
Good BCG
by Anton
Surprised to see so many bad reviews! I have around 2000 rounds mostly suppressed through my latest built with Odin 10.5" 223 Wylde barrel and this BCG. Not a single malfunction so far. Cycled everything from steel case wolf to federal 77gr Match ammo. I'll have to throw it into my 300blk upper and see how it runs in that.
