OW 15.5" 308 M-lok handguard
by Kenneth
I was skeptical of this handguard being to able to be perfectly aligned due to it's "adaptor" type mounting method.
Not any more! I followed the directions to the letter (kept receiver threads dry/unoiled, only used the supplied Vibra-Tite for the barrel nut, no grease). The pin supplied to align the adaptor worked! I thought I'd have cant (since the adaptor WILL move to the side of the twist with pin installed), but it actually came out DEAD ON STRAIGHT! I did deviate from the instructions in one aspect, I used 65 ft/lbs instead of their recommended 50.
FANTASTIC rail. Super light, solid, very well machined, and perfectly centered. I have ZERO regrets and this is now my favorite rail.
I wouldn't recommend this hand guard.

The finish is nice and looks good; however, I don't like the proprietary barrel nut and adapter though. It's tough to get it straight while getting it torqued properly. Then the aluminum adapter strips out easily where you mount the hand guard. If you tighten the handguard mounting screws like they say, the hand guard comes loose and moves around. Tighten it too much, and it strips out the threads. Not happy with this item.
Will strip eventually.

I think Odin Works makes good stuff but as the other review said you will have trouble if you remove the handguard a couple times to swap a barrel etc. The aluminum is just too soft even if you are careful you will strip one. I lost one using an accurate torque wrench. Just beef it up a bit and you have 5 stars.
Not impressed with quality and durability.

Same issues as other people. I've built lots of AR10 and AR15 rifles. This is the only barrel nut I've had issues with. I striped it out at first because of cheap aluminum used in the adapter piece. Odin Works thankfully sent me another one, which was nice. But I wasn't confident in the torque spec of the barrel nut. The gun was shooting like crap until I swapped to a different barrel nut and hand guard. I think it didn't torque tight enough while also being aligned. Terrible proprietary barrel nut. I also had an Odin works swivel stud mounted to the hand guard via M-Lok. The Odin works stud was made of cheap aluminum and broke... Odd. Not impressed with their products.
