PRIMARY ARMS 1-6X24MM

by

the scope sits on my 300 blackout i built myself. this is my 1st primary arms scope and I'm digging it a lot. doing a lot of drills for 3 gun comp. i will be using my mossberg 930 jm pro series. took me awhile to get that dialed in but working great my pistol is my 29 year old colt 10mm with zero problems. those are my 3 guns now back to my scope. 25 yards to 150 yards as fast as i can pull the trigger the scope hits the target. lots and lots of confidence in that scope. have shot hundreds of rounds and im rough on the rifle have been bumped. never an adjustment made. i do not even use my other ar's now. that rifle and scope combo just can not be beat. battery has not been changed yet either. have co witness iron sights. have not had a need for them yet. thanks bought a combo pack with scope, deluxe 30mm mount with caps for $329 bucks through opticsplantet

WILL BUY FOR MY 556 NEXT

by

I purchased this scope with a american defense QD mount in mar. 2015 used about a year now. Its mounted to a sig mcx in 300 blackout. Amazing combination, has held zero every single time. I remove it each time to clean it ( at least 20 times in the last year). The scope it self- good glass i like the etched reticle only the chevron and not the bdc is illuminated. Its durable, its gotten its share of bumps, i even knocked off my table on to a concrete floor, it still works. I've fired 2500-3000 rounds thru this scope/mount combo. I'only taken shots out to 200 yards with it but i can consistently get 1/2" groups at 100 yds. I am no marksman, but not bad for me on a 6x power setting.

A SORE DICK DEAL !

by

There are few scope available for the .300 Blackout especially ate this price point. At the time of this writing I am awaiting my .300 Blackout upper so this review is about the scope only. The build quality seems good and all mechanical functions are smooth. The external finish is a nice matte black and looks well done. The glass is great with neutral color good sharpness even at the edges and almost no distortion even at 1X. The reticle illumination is good even here in the Arizona mid day sun. The reticle etching is sharp and well defined. The bold chevron picks up well for "close in" shooting and the hold over marks are fine enough for longer range shooting. But what I really like best is the fast focus eyepiece diopter correction. Unlike most scopes that max out around +2 this one goes past +3 allowing me to focus the reticle without the need of glasses. You young guys won't appreciate this feature but as you get older (I'm 70) this will be more important. The only "negative" I can see is I wish the illumination turned off between all of the on positions. My other illuminated scope have this feature and I love it. However they cost two to four times as much as this one. Also two batteries and a set of "flip-up" lens caps are included. All in all this is a "sore dick deal" you just can't beat it. I've seen nothing that comes close for the money.

Great 1-6 and love the reticle

by

I wanted a bit more magnification for my old eyes. I am so glad this was available at the low price point. This scope has very good optics for the money I think it would be difficult to do better. I love the reticle not to say any are perfect for all situations but this is one of the better ones for sure. The turret adjustments have clear and precise clicks and are not overly difficult or too easy to turn. It’s a fairly compact scope and not overly heavy although I wish it was a bit lighter. I have several hundred rounds through my MP15 5.56 through with this scope on it with no loss of zero. I was concerned about the warranty when I bought the scope but after the gun fell off of the bench and landed on the top turret still retaining its zero I might add I had the chance to see how good it was. The fall smashed the turret cap so it would not come off. I took the cap off with channel locks when I got home and the home but the turret came off with it. Called Primary Arms and told them exactly what happened as it was my fault I expect to have to pay for repairs but instead they had me send them some pictures then emailed me and had me send the scope in. It was back in less than two weeks good as new. So now I don’t worry about their warranty anymore. You will likely have to more than double the price to get better.

Great Scope

by

This is a long one but I hope it may answer some questions for anyone that is interested. First off this is a pretty solid scope I have it mounted on my SIG 556R with some UTG scope rings and I gotta say that it feels like it was made for my rifle. You cant beat the 1-6x zoom for the 7.62x39 since its not a sniper round so the magnification is more than necessary for hitting out to 200-250 yds. I got it zeroed at 100 yds just like it says in one of the instructional videos I found and now its a tack driver! Ive seen videos of guys hitting steel out at 400 yds with an AK!!!! Never heard of that before. I havent had a chance to reach this thing out due to deployments and training but the time will come this summer! At 1x zoom there is a TINY bit of fish eye effect around the very edge of the glass but other than that it is very consistent and easy to scout and shoot with both eyes open. The adjustment knob is a little stiff to adjust but im sure with time it will slightly break in nothing to complain about though. Id much rather have a tight/solid scope over one that could lose focus in the middle of shooting a string of rapid fire. I would upload a photo of my 50yd 5 shot group at the standing but it wont let me (my rifle is no lightweight probably around 9+ pounds) but it was easily sub MOA with 2 shots in the same hole. It comes with the front and rear flip up covers to keep dust off the lenses could be handy for storage or if you want to strategically place it in your home. Has an adjustable brightness setting for the chevron and gets pretty bright for those mid day shoots and the lower settings are AWESOME for when you need just a tiny bit of illumination on your reticle in low light conditions. Dont forget to turn it off though its no AIMPOINT. It even has dots beside each range marker so you can lead a running target. As well as a silhouette range finder all you do is size up your target in the correct bracket and it will tell you how far away your target is (I believe its for a 5'10" human size target) So minus the tritium and fixed zoom this thing is pretty much an adjustable ACOG+ for any AK Hybrid Mutant 300 BLK or any other crazy mutt of an AR you can come up with that shoots the 7.62x39 or 300 BLK. Overall its a great scope im very happy with it and for the price it will be a tough one to beat. For all you 300 BLK hunters out there I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this scope for you.

Gets Job done

clear glass poor illumination of chevron only setting worth using are 10 and 11 still a good scope for the money

Perfection

Short: couldnt ask for anythint more I really wanted a good 1 - 6 power scope and man did this thing fit that bill for such a low cost. I will admit i have accidentally dropped this thing somewhat hard(accidentally) twice and the scope never missed a beat. So far 300 rounds on my rifle 2 different primary arms mounts (go with the basic best 25$ i have ever spent on a scope mount!) the glass is way above my expectations for the price point... WAY above. The only "flaw" is there are two dots to the side of the aiming points these are supposed to be for people that are running at a certain distance or something idk. Anyways mine are slightly not level. Dosent bother me its not much and im never letting go of this scope. Love every detail even the fixed 100 yard paralax. For me all i do with this is 100 yard bench rest shots(which my PSA upper produced a 10 shot 100 yard 3/4moa shot group with this scope ((19.5gr W296 COAL 2.06 nosler varmageddon 110gr cci small primer)) with this scope) the brightness of the arrow head is extreme to barely noticeable and everywhere in between which is cool but man does it drain a battery(they sent two with my scope) the minute magnification is more like 1.1ish but that said it works great with both eyes open i feel like 6x is barely enough to make really tight groups at 100 yrds. Finally be sure to buy the rubber scope caps. Mine broke when i slung my rifle in the truck and didnt have them closed. Yes i know my fault but now im regretting not getting those.

Gen 1 version

by

Great to have a 1-6 scope for my AR. Quality of glass if not great but adequate at this price point. Unfortunately I didn't get to use this scope till a long while after purchase. This scope is blurry on the left side of the sight picture causing a lot of eye strain when looking through it more than a brief glance. Also has some strange outlining of the objects you look at through it but at this price point I wouldn't normally complain about that. Sent it back in for Primary arms to look at and while they were great to deal with they saw no problem and returned it to me. I considered trying the Gen II with its upgraded glass but is the one I have is of acceptable quality to Primary Arms then I don't feel comfortable taking the risk with that one. I am unfortunately replacing this scope with something much more expensive that won't drive my eye crazy when I use it. From PA: That is not consistent with other reviews so lets exchange it just to be sure.

What a Value

by

I purchased this scope through Amazon with the intended use of pig hunting in Texas. The glass is very clear and the chevron reticle is going to be perfect for close situations and detailed enough for farther out. I mounted it on a 5:56 so I'll have to mess with it a bit but from 0 - 200 no worries at all for hogs. I own a lot of scopes and spent much much more on a few but this scope views like a more expensive scope. It is to new to me to comment on longevity but the out of the box quality was perfect.

4 Star .300 Blk Scope... 5 at this price and 5 for service!

by

Mounted this on a .300 AAC Blackout AR by AAC (also bought from PA). Reticle specific to the .300 Blk/7.62x39 round is great. The ranging feature windage and drop compensation is superbe and works with both super and subsonic. Zeroed easily and held zero. Glass is good illumination ranges from none (you can use the reticle black) and is bright enough for high noon sunny days. Only the cheron is illuminated (different than the 5.56mm model in which the entire drop/windage tree is illuminated). 1x magnification allows this to be used like a red dot (or red chevron in this case). The ranging/drop works only at maximum magnification 6x. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase extremely pleased with PA (you earned a new loyal on-line customer) and extatically pleased for the price. Inexpensive... not cheap. There is no other .300Blk optic to consider. Nice R and D PA.

Love it

by

Very clear at 1 through 6 power. Could easily shoot with both eyes open at 1 power. Lots of flexibility in eye relief. Illumination range is great. Nice having a spare batter under the turret. Anyone who has tried it really enjoyed it. It's worth springing for the Butler Creek covers for a tighter fit in my opinion. This is on a 7.62x39 AR.

.300 AAC Blk Specific

by

Purchased this with an AAC .300 Blackout AR from PA as well. Built in ranging and hold over features specific for the .300 Blk/7.62x39 round is a huge plus. With 1X magnification it is pretty much a red dot (rather a red chevron) exellent for closer faster engagement. Held zero all afternoon once dialed in. One critique the 5.56 version illuminated the entire tree. On this one only the chevron is illuminated. Clarity is good. I am very pleased with the features and quality of this scope. I am equally pleased with the speed of shipping both on my rifle and scope. You earned a new loyal customer.

Great for the $

by

Compared to Vortex Strike Eagle at 1x they are the same clarity. 6x the slight edge goes to the Strike Eagle; and I mean on the verge of picking fly poop of pepper. Strike Eagle magnification adjustment is smoother but the PA is not bad. PA is about 20% less $ Bought this to be used on 1x for jumping coyote in brush 6x for coyote and deer out to 300 yds and some steel plinking out to 500. Wanted something with a tad more mag than a 4x. This one is a good price point for a .300 BO no complaints on the glass so it fit the need just fine. If PA had a 1-6x mil dot or MOA at this price point I would be all over it. Better yet if it was mil circles instead of solid dots....

The Best 300BLK Optic available

by

This is simply the best optic available for your 300 Blackout. Are there others? Yes. Do any of them perform better for less than $700? No and especially not with glass this clear! This scope expands the envelop of performance for this round and allows you to take full advantage of it's capabilities primarily it's supersonic ones. Using subs though? That's fine drop it down to 1x or use the adjusted bullet drop compensation it is really that easy. No one optic does everything but you won't get any closer than this. From up close to low and mid range all at the turn of a dial. Keep it at 1x magnification and turn on the illumination to make your chevron glow like a red dot. If you're reaching out to touch something crank it up to 6x or anywhere in between and use the bullet drop estimator to your advantage. I LOVE this scope and can't believe the quality for the price. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that like every single 1-4x or 1-6x scope I've seen the 1x setting is not a true 1x. It's more like a 1.2x as there is barely a little magnification still. You will most likely notice this when using it on the 1x setting as a red dot with both eyes open. It still functions flawlessly and is still EXTREMELY effective at 1x. I have a holographic sight that I could switch out when only using 1x but the impact is so minimal that it's simply not worth my time even with quick disconnect mounts. Pros: 1 - 6 Magnification Glass as clear as many $1K scopes Firm positive windage/elevation adjustments No tools necessary for windage/elevation Variable magnification is smooth but firm. Not moving under fire Eye relief allows for great nose to charging handle positioning if you like PRICE!!! Cons: Slight magnification remains at 1x

Great Scope

by

Been tracking and reading reviews on this scope for awhile finally broke down and bought one. I'm not disappointed. As everyone says it has very clear glass and is a true 1x power. Very notable clicks on windage and elevation adjustments. The reticle adjustment is lit from very low to very high so anyone should be able to find the right one for their liking. I put it on my Sig 556r and is a perfect combination. Can't wait to reach out there and test out the bullet drop and range capabilities.

Great scope for the money!!

by

I purchased this for my C39V2 AK. I installed a "Master Mount" side mount and purchased the same setup shown in the P.A. images above. The scope lens is clear great eye relief no fish eye easy to adjust. I did put some Butler Creek flip up's on it. I feel this is the best bang for the buck if you want a dual purpose scope which I need for my aging eyes. P.A. has great customer service also. I'm very pleased.

Excellent 1-6

by

I purchased this scope to put on my 7.62x39 AR-15. Combined with the extended nose to charging handle mount I am very pleased. I've had multiple shooters comment on how clear the glass is the eye relief is excellent. There is no "Fish eye" type view at 1x as I've seen in other optics as well. I could leave it at 1x all day long and be happy having the variable power is a nice bonus. With 1x the red chevron really stands out zooming in to 6x really bridges the gap out there. I would purchases this optic again and recommend it to anyone wanting a great all around scope. I replaced my primary arms red dot with this and while the red dot is great this is another level and will make me much more accurate. Coupled with the ALG 65$ mil spec trigger my rifle feels like it has been completely upgraded.

Zeroed in the optic in minutes. Seems to work really well up close and at distances over 100 yards. Glass is clear. Very impressive optic for the price. The Cmmg mutant is now on point.

Primary Arms 1-6X24 SFP Scope

by

This is the least expensive illuminated 300 Blackout illuminated reticle scope on the market so I decided to take a chance on it. Received item very quickly. Would recommend better protection for the scope inside the box as the foam did not separate it from contact with the box very well. Have not had time to mount it on the intended rifle but it looks well made and easy to use. Did notice that with the illumination turned up from about half to full illumination the inside of the scope and optics glass glows red and detracts from your ability to see through the scope. With the illumination turned down near minimum it is not an issue. If this turns out to be the only issue then I think it will be money well spent.
