Primary Arms 3X Compact Prism Scope with the Patented ACSS 5.56 Reticle
- PA 3x & 5x ACSS Prism Scopes Review by MrGunsNGear
- PAC5X 400 yards testing by Dimitri Mikroulis
The scope is extremely durable, designed to handle heavy recoil and extreme weather conditions, with a 3-year warranty. The standard 1913 Picatinny mount can be removed for use on AR15/M16 carry handles in conjunction with our carry handle screw, product code 92581A320.
Some customers may wish to upgrade the flip caps to Butler Creek models. For Butler Creek sizing, the objective end is size 13 and the ocular end is size 11.

Primary Arms is changing the industry.
I believe this to be the best optic in the affordable prism scope category. The clarity is very nice and more than enough for 3x magnification. The eye relief and eye box are more forgiving than the specs would suggest and I'm able to find the reticle in awkward shooting position. The large outer horseshoe speeds up target acquisition by a lot and makes the BAC viable with this optic. I believe with dedicated practice, the speed of of a 1x optic can be achieved. Illumination is very bright and visible in daylight.

I believe this is the best prism optic on the market if you take the Trijicon ACOG and Leupold HAMR out of contention. This optic goes head to head with the Vortex Spitfire 3x and the Burris AR-332, and it wins with the ACSS reticle. The glass is much better than the price point suggests and is more than clear enough for the role it performs at 3x magnification. I found the eye relief more forgiving than the posted specs suggest. I'm able to see the reticle on target in a lot of akward shooting positions, such as rollover prone. While it is not as good in this regard as the legendary TA-33 ACOG, it's damn close and workable. I'd go so far to say that if you have severe astigmatism and red dots are not workable, and you don't want to pony up for a mini-ACOG, this is your optic right here. The brilliant ACSS CQB reticle bridges the gap on speed very nicely. I'd like to see PA partner with Trijicon to put this reticle in a TA-33, or release a Platinum series of prism optics.

Bought this through Amazon :) and it's an awesome add on to my M&P 15 Sport 2 that I bought here. The only complaint I have on this is the cheapo kind of mount but does the job anyway, holds zero for more than 250 rounds put out. I flip the mount so the nuts is on the right side of the rifle that way less change to snag on my clothes.
Well Designed And Good Quality
First and most importantly, its very rugged. I left it out in the rain for about an hour, then proceeded to throw and drop it about 2-3 dozen times. No exaggeration. Believe me folks, these were big drops, huge. Fabulous drops, and lots of them. (most were more like throws) After all that, I checked zero, and I did get a small shift. Less than 1 MOA. I almost didn't notice it. Considering how much I beat the crap out of it, that's still a pass. The glass is pretty decent. Eye relief is very nice, especially compared to other prism scopes I've looked at. Perfect for the LOP on ARs. Illumination is daylight visible as advertised, and is also dim enough for night time. Use loctite and do not over tighten. Overall I am very happy with the performance of this scope. I'll give PA strong consideration in the future for optics.
The Common Man's ACOG
The price is right for this nice piece of glass. I have mine atop an ADM QD mount (I highly recommend this) and it has performed flawlessly.
<br>Glass: clear, illumination: bright, build quality: solid, reticle: fast/ accurate/ useful.
<br>Trust me, when you lift this sucker up you know there is some metal there. This isn't some rebranded Barska POS, this is what a budget optic is meant to be. Planning to put the soon to be released PA micro red dot on it that was announced at this year's shot show.
Excellent quality for the price. Crystal clear glass, etched reticle is flawless. Easy to mount. Easy to zero in. After sighting in on my AR, I took it deer hunting. Head shot on a doe at 75 yards, bullet placement was right where I aimed. Great scope for close and mid range shooting. I have not tested out the range feature of the reticle, but I have to imagine it works as advertised. I'm very impressed with this compact scope for the price. It's a great value for the budget enthusiast. You will not find anything better for less than $300

I bought this a few months ago and waited til now to give it a honest review from experience. This is a great little scope. It's built like a tank. Seems very durable. Definite waterproof construction. The included mount is solid. This scope is compatible with Acog mounts if you want QD function. The ACSS reticle is a nice feature if you shoot distances.
<br>3x magnification provides you with CQB ability, as well as engaging targets out to 600 yards if need be. I'm able to get sub-MOA groups at 100 yards with the rifle benched.
<br>PA makes a 5x model as well.
This is an Excellent scope

I previously purchased the Primary Arms 5x scope which is awesome so I had no reservations about ordering the 3x. But I'm really impressed with the 3x. I bought it for the reticle which is the best on the market for a short to mid range AR hands down. The 5x has a little bit of a soda straw effect when looking through it at extended ranges nothing wrong with the scope itself. I think it's just the physics behind a prism sight. But the 3x is perfect a wide and crisp field of view. On my 20" AR I can see just a hint of shadow from the front sight base but it is not at all distracting. All the controls work perfectly. And it's a very well designed and put together sight just like the 5x. When you take it out of the box you feel like you actually bought something of value. But again the reticle is by far the best thing going for an AR. A large halo for close range yet uncluttered for mid to long range. With an American Defense QD mount this set up is really neat.
Was easy to sight in and it seems to have kept its adjustments. I use it to shoot 100 to 200 yards the most and it has been good
but needs new base like 762Great optic but when using on a 5.45 AK it sits too high. Not sure why the 7.62 model has a removable riser and this doesnt. If this did it would easily make it one of the best ak74 optics available bow it's limited to an ar or an uncomfortable cheek weld
Rugged CLEAR glass amazing reticle (on or off) fast for CQB excellent for distance positive clicks for illumination/windage/elevation. I have owned EoTechs and Aimpoints and for the money I am more satisfied with this scope and the Primary Arms Micro Dot than ANY EoTech or Aimpoint. EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT!
Vortex has got nothin' on you guys...I have the Spitfire and just purchased this one....Anybody want to buy a Spitfire so I can get another one of these???!!! LOL!
Just got it
Ok let me start by saying primary arms has the best shipping dept iv ever used now the box is nice take out the scope looks great the flip up covers are good seal up well and flip up strong and can be opened with one finger the brightness control knob has a nice grip to it and positive if not audible clicks the turet covers have the same grip and are now tethered to the scope an improvement over the 2.5x the glass now im far from an expert but i find it to be quit crisp and clear the reticle on the other hand is perfection so clear and sharp illuminated or not its real nice and im very happy i spent the money and even for twice the price i really dont think you can be beat it haven't shot it yet as the rifle i purchased it for isnt even shipping yet
