Good Optic, Good Price

by -

I bought this optic for my .308 build. I love it. Now I'm thinking of getting 2 more for my both my wife & I's AR15s. For less than $300 it is really hard to beat.

Tim and Sam turned me onto the BEST ACSS OPTIC

by

Tim and Sam at primary arms turned me on to this optic and is surpassed my wildest expectations I prefer this over my Burris 233. So crystal-clear I relief was a little tricky but once figured that out it was awesome the best part is I can use it on my A.R. 10 or my A.R. 15... I will be getting another one, that’s the best $300 you’ll ever spend, you will not be disappointed..

5X Prism ACSS : AS ADVERTISED

by -

Just got back from the range, took 5 AR's with 4 different P.A. optics including the 1-6x ACSS, the Holosun micro dot with ACSS, and 2 micro dots, but the 5x Prismatic ACSS totally stole the show. My friends who brought a Vortex and SWFA both loved the ease of use, and speed of targeting.
No boring stats. It's just a lot of fun, and well worth the money.
Eye relief was a little tricky, but once I got it down, was good to go. The adjustments are crisp, solid clicks. The glass is fine. Is there better? Sure, but this guy is all about the reticle, and it is SLICK. I put this right up there with my 1-6x for sure.

You will be impressed by this sub $300 optic.

by -

You will be impressed by this sub $300 optic. Clear glass, awesome reticle, very accurate. I replaced the mount with a GDI quick detach and a Macedon Defense 7.0 KRAM spacer to raise the optic up and back.

Number 1 scope for me!

by -

This has to be the best scope I've ever had the pleasure of running! I keep forgetting the light as the recital is etched in the glass. The weight makes it hardly noticeable, and the price didn't hurt my feelings.
The YouTube video made by the engineer that designed it are top notch! All in all I'd give it 6 stars!

Excellent optic

by -

Came with all necessary tools and instructions on how to use it. Having glass this clear on a scope used to be unheard of and that speaks volumes for this scope. Had no problem remounting and observed no shift in POA/POI

Nice optic

by

Like the scope performs with much more expensive units ,my only complaint is the picatanny rail is poorly secured ,I had a small red dot then a flashlight mounted there it came loose the cause was the screw actually stripped ,I used and tapped a size larger sanded the area and secured it JB weld I hope it solves the problem I intend to mount the red dot back there

Best tactical reticle on the market but have realistic expectations

by

I've shot 6,000 rounds with this scope. I own $200 scopes and a $3500 Schmidt and Bender so I have experience with both low end and high end optics. I love the reticle. It's held 0 perfectly despite being heavily beaten on in competitions. 5x mag is perfect when paired with a red dot at 45* for longer stages. What's not to like: the glass is not the greatest even in this pricepoint. The glass is better than the 5x Burris but not as good as the 1-4 vortex crossfire and the vortex prism. I like this scope better overall than those 3. The glass definitely usable, but it blurs slightly around the edges and fogs up in cold rain/snow. HEAVY optic for a .223. Significantly heavier than an ACOG. It's nice that it comes with scope caps, but they're poor quality and fall off. Overall, I would recommend this to a friend with realistic expectations. If they could offer this with slightly better glass and reduce the weight, it would be a 5 star item.

None is better at customer service.

by -

I purchased this optic and when I received it, it wasn't for me. My eye had a hard time adjusting to the constant 5X magnification. However, the glass was clear, the reticle is superior and the green/red illumination was spot on. It's a great optic, just not for me. Maybe I'm getting old and picky. That said....as usual, Primary Arms customer service is far superior than anything I had ever seen. These folks don't play around. If there is a problem, they simply fix it. OUTSTANDING is all I can say. Thanks folks, I really appreciate it. A special thanks to Melissa the returns supervisor.

This One Is A Keeper!

by

Finally got to try it today after my American Defense AD-B3 quick detatch base came in. Mounted it to my S&W MP-15, boresighted it, and my first shot was only 4" high & right of center at 50 yds, so it was pleasantly easy to sight in. Sight picture, reticle and dot were crystal clear at all distances, a big improvement over the magnified Eotech 512 it replaced, accuracy and repeatability were excellent. The nature of the ACSS reticle is a big plus. For the price, PA has hit a home run with this one, and it seems rock solid enough to be durable in the long run. Thank you, PA!

Great Optic for AR-15

by

I got this optic to use until I could afford an ACOG. Upon opening to the box I was very impressed. Great packaging and instructions to boot. I have used this optic from 50 yards to 300 yards without any issues at all. I love the ability to switch between red/green illumination. I have run about 300 rounds on the rifle in the last 2 months or so with this optic in rain and shine. The optic has worked flawlessly and glass is beautifully clear. I like the prism 5 x so much that I have decided to pass up the trijicon ACOG and keep this one! I actually like the reticle more on this optic than the ACOG offerings. I also have a mini red dot on top from primary arms that works well but will be replaced with the RMR once I have the money. This optic is the best fixed optic/reticle combo value out there for AR-15s. You will not be disappointed.

way to go

by

I bought this sight for ar15 to get me by until i could afford a "real one" and boy was i surprised!!! This thing is dead on!! Its been knocked dropped wet and still holds zero thru distant shooting and rapid fire. Thanks for saving me MONEY!

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!

by

I am a .308/7.62 guy but put this on my wifes S&W M&P 15 .223/5.56. This is an amazing piece of equipment and become intuitive once you learn the ACSS system. It just works. Quality is excellent and Primary Arms is my new go to company. I have a feeling they are going to be getting most of my money due to quality and mainly customer service. The only complaint i would have on this would be the mount. I am a big fan of QD mounts. I wish they would sell it with the basic but offer options for mounts on this scope. I would have paid the extra money to have it come with my choice. This is the way a company should be run. Primary Arms sets the standard that others should emulate. Keep up the good work.

Great package for the money

by

I don't think you can buy a better prisim sight for the money. It has very clear glass and the I love the reticle. I like the dual color lighting for the center of the reticle would be nice if the whole thing lit up but then it would make it harder to use in the CQB/room clearing role. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet but I'm looking forward to see what it will do on the range. Great product Primary arms!!

PA 5X Scope

by

After much research of compact scopes for my AR I bought the PA 5X. Scope was shipped the day after I ordered. The scope came in an attractive foam lined box. Since I have no use for the top rail I had planned on removing it but after reading the instructions I found that you cannot do this. No big deal. Took about 2 minutes to mount the scope and to my surprise the nuts were sae (1/2/") and not metric. It's a little heavier than I would prefer but again no big deal. I haven't got a chance to shoot with it yet since the weather isn't cooperating. I adjusted the focus to my suit my eye and was very pleased with the clarity of the glass. The horseshoe and dot are great but the range numbers are on the small side and can be difficult to read with my less than perfect eyesight. After becoming familiar with it this is probably a non-issue. Overall I am very satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Fantastic

by

I absolutely love this scope! The ranging is dead onsuper glass quality! The reticle works great even off so a dead battery would not cause an issue but after 3 days at the range I am still on the same battery. Eye relief is better than most . You can not go wrong here! I personally like it better than the ACOG I had a while back and would not hesitate to buy another for my next rifle build!!! Thanks Primary Arms for giving us a great optic at a good price!!!

Great quality so far

by

As did everyone else I had an issue talking my base off to install the QD one. Mine also striped the heads. Easiest way is to take a dremel tool with a cutting wheel and cut slits in it to use a flat tip screwdriver to take it off. I didn't want to reuse my base so I had no problem destroying mine. Other than that GREAT quality so far. I will update when I zero and shoot.

Newer PAC5x scope

by

I bought mine in July/August 2015 and gave it a 5 star review. My son bought his in Dec 2015 and it seems they now apply a heavy amount of locktite or similar glue to the base screws making it almost impossible to remove without damaging the heads even after using heat to loosen. Still the scope itself is great just if you are going to use a QD base ask PA to loosen the screws prior to shipment and that might help to not damage parts.

Top Notch Service and Product

by

I recently ordered the 5x Compact Prism Scope. My order was shipped and received very quickly and the product is actually better than advertised in regards to sturdiness and ruggedness. I can't wait to field test it but I'm expexcting a great experience!

Put the Primary Arms 5X Prism Scope on my new AR this weekend and within an hour I had it zeroed at 100 yards and shooting steel out to 500 yards. Great clear glass for this price point. Glass quality compares very well against my Leupold Mark 4. Great job PA! Semper Fidelis. I am one happy Devil Dog and you have a new satisfied customer. ?

Love it!

by

Got mine with the AD mount for my AR 308. Mounts right over my YHM rear flip-up sight and the flip-up caps clears the YHM when opening. It retains zero shooting 175gr and 150gr 308. The QD mount works great too in retaining zero. I have removed and installed the scope many times retaining zero. Very robust...Handle my rifle twice a day for transport with no worry of damage. Fast both eyes-open close range target acquisition. Could not be happier with it.

Almost A 5-Star

by

This would have been a five star review if I had not needed to cut the mount that came with it off to install the LaRue mount I purchased for it. Putting all the Loctite in the world on a screw torquing it down good and tight then expecting a 3mm hex-key to unscrew it without stripping the hex? Poor planning in the fastener selection department. This is yet another case where an unstylish flat-head screw-head would have been a far better choice. Function over form and fashion! These things are sold with the promise of using any ACOG compatible mount that implies that I will be able to remove the default mount without resorting to violence.

Great scope at a bargain.

Features of much more highly priced scopes solid build clear glass.
