Mount failure
Yoy Yanza from CA wrote on July 12, 2016:

Tried it in my open competition gun (with sheumman ported tri-brid barrel). scope was great but it fell off after a few rounds. I guess the four tiny screws wouldn't hold that much. I would suggest that they review their design and probably come up with a bigger screws or better mounting design. over all though I like it as it is lower and very light

Excellent Value Despite the Removable Base
Lorenzo from TX wrote on June 23, 2016:

Haven't gotten it to the range yet, but everything on it is excellent so far. Finish is great, dot is crisp, optic is simple to use, and all gadgets and gizmos work as they should. All except for the removable base. I've been going at it in order to create a perfect co-witness with my riser for awhile now, but even after removing the four retaining screws it's as if it was JB welded or super glued on there. Absolutely will not budge. I would definitely still buy again in the future though, except this time without the "removable base".

100% worth every penny
James from NC wrote on March 21, 2016:

Very nice for the price it has 11 different brightness settings and holds zero even after getting knocked around pretty good

Finally got a round to shooting it...
CT from AZ wrote on February 23, 2016:

The only thing is cheap about this red dot is the price (see my earlier review). Long story short: I didn't even have to adjust mine and at 50 yards, with no rest other than my own two elbows, I got three-shot groups that fit under a penny - all day long.

Very Good Red Dot
Mark from KS wrote on February 12, 2016:

I bought this for my Wife's Ruger 10/22 carbine. She was hitting all over a target, consistantly, never mind the range. I bought this Red Dot for her for Valentines Day. I took the liberty of bore sighting it, then to the range ( 25 yd limit). I had to make a couple of adjustments, but once that was done, this rifle ran great and very, very accurate. It seems as clear and nice as the Match Dot Ultra Dot IV on my .22 target pistol, and as the Aimpoint on my AR. Really good Sight, based on one long outing with it. Thanks, Mark

Brightness setting is awful
BC from NC wrote on February 06, 2016:

Let me start by saying I love primary arms red dots. I have one on all the AR's I have. As for this new one, it's a bust, at least for me. Went to the range today to shoot a match and I found that I have to turn the setting all the way up to 11 to be able to use it when it's bright outside. I could not even see the dot on settings 6 and below. I have the older MD-O6L model, and that thing rocks. Setting 11 on the new sight is about the same brightness as setting 6 on the MD-O6L.

Hard to beat on any firearm
Tacky from NC wrote on January 03, 2016:

I have atleast 4 of these on different firearms, the ar15 with an american defense quick release absolute mount, mac11 pistol in 9mm, ruger 10/22 with a tactical soultions rail, ruger mark 3 target 5.5 pistol, and uzi carbine. I own several high end optics also, the eotech 512, xps2, aimpoint comp 3, fastfire 2, trijicon acog, vortex strike fire 1 and 2, and this sight is almost even to those. I have never had a loss of zero, its click adjustments make zero easy, and its 2moa dot allow precise accuracy, out to 200 yards for me on 10" steel. I recommended it to a friend who mounted it on a highpoint carbine. He loves it, 100 yards on 10" steel is no problem. It may not be military grade, or night vision compatible, but for personal defense or accurate target shooting it is more than capable. I plan to buy another if needed, and highly recommend.

Nice red dot, but the mount could be better.
Roger from FL wrote on December 31, 2015:

First of all, Primary Arms has great customer service and the shipping department is the fastest in the industry. I know this to be factual having ordered from dozens of other online sources. I received my order in less than 4 days to South Florida less than a week before Christmas! The 2 MOA dot in this sight is awesome! It is far better than the 4 MOA dot that is in my Vortex Spitfire red dot. It's a clean dot with no "Comet tail" effect. Plenty of brightness even on the sunny afternoons in South Florida. This red dot is super light and very tiny but does the job as good as much larger red dots. I purchased the Radical Firearms 1/3 co-witness mount to put the scope on. It also does a great job of lining up my Diamondhead polymer back-up sights. The Radical Firearms mount is good quality as well but I'm glad I only paid $20 for it (thanks to Primary Arms offering a package deal on mounts when you buy the red dot) it's not worth the list price of $60. The bolt that holds it on your rail is threaded the entire length. Which could scratch your rail. A better mount would have a smooth bolt or even a square shaft to insure it locks tightly to your rail. It's not bad, but certainly not worth the retail price of $60. Over all I'm very pleased with this combination and would recommend it to others.

You get what u pay for!
Jeff from PA wrote on December 24, 2015:

Could not get passed the glob of glue looking thing in corner which was the transmitter. It was over wheming in the view. Red dot was crisp and clear but promptly returned it. Didnt get credit for shipping either way and lost around $20. I was told that is how it is and took my lumps returning it.

Awesome Red Dot
Javie from IN wrote on December 10, 2015:

These things are simply awesome. Crystal clear, reliable and hold zero. This is easy a 200.00 optics for less than 100.00 I have had mine for over a year now. It rides in my patrol car trunk and stays there 365 days a year. No matter how cold or hot when I pull it out and turn it on it comes on. More than I can say for my Eotech. I notice some reviews complain about gunk in the bottom seven o'clock position. That only shows user ignorance of not knowing how to properly use a red dot. Keep up the good work Primary Arms! I will be buying one of your 4-14 rifle scopes soon

Quite disappointed
Greg from CO wrote on November 30, 2015:

I mounted this optic on a Midwest Industries rail hand guard on an Arsenal AK-74. There is such a massive glob of material at the bottom of the optic that the iron sights cannot be used. It obscures about 1/5 of the retical and extends from the 3 o'clock position down to the 7 o'clock position making the optic almost useless. The rail is excellent quality but the optic not so much.

Good little sight
Robert from TX wrote on November 08, 2015:

My first adventure with a red dot. Easy to sight in. Only problem was a stripped screw when changing bases. I didn't think I got that carried away but whatever.

Seems good, dead battery
Brian from CA wrote on November 02, 2015:

3.5* The dot seems to be pretty good for the price. The dot itself is nice and crisp, feels pretty sturdy without being to heavy. Havent been able to take it to the range yet but i suspect it will be fine. One thing that really bothers me was that the red dot arrived turned on., Im sure they do this to test to make sure it works but by leaving it on the battery was completely dead when it arrived. So i had to make an extra trip to go and buy a battery. Pretty annoying. PA - Sorry about the battery. That is a hassle and something we hate to see. We are sending a couple backup batteries in the mail

Primary arms micro dot is great for range shooting. I wouldn't trust my life with it though. Customer service is great however, after receiving the sight it was not functioning properly. Contacted primary arms and recieved a new one in two days! So customer service is great, sight is just avg. save your money and buy an eotech or aimpoint.

Decent for the price
Hurl Vreeland from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

I am happy with the optic but there is no way this is .5 moa per click. I'm guessing 1 moa or more at 100 yards. I go one click and I'm 1 moa left of center, adjust and 1 moa to the right of center. I cannot get center at 100 yards.

Microdot with removable base.
Joel Shapiro from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

I haven't been to the range yet, but the sight appears to be good. The red dot is sharp and clear and the design will help train me to keep both eyes open. One issue I had was mounting the rise to the sight. There were no instructions, but I finally figured it out. I didn't realize it at the time I made my order that the diameter of the tube was so small, when using my pop-up iron sights, all one can see in the MicroDot viewer is the iron sight, front and rear, so this will not work to co-immage. The microdot would be fine if one never used the back-up sights.

Nice sight
Steve M from CA wrote on August 10, 2015:

Emailed PA to ask what micro sight to buy And was recommend their in house brand over the Bushnell, and even over their more expensive one. Seems nicely made and co-whiteness is perfect on the HK 94 clone with a B&T low mount. Excited to try it out, seems a nice deal for the money. Crazy fast shipping! Always very pleased with PA.

I'm quickly becoming that guy. Great stuff at a low price. I show up and have all the same cool stuff as the guy who spent a fortune but I only have hundreds instead of thousands in my equipment. The red dot scope is every bit as good as the more expensive stuff at an affordable price. My buddies are jealous.

Bargain Micro Dot
Mr. Bacon from OK wrote on August 10, 2015:

Excellent 2 moa red dot for the money. If your needs are for combat, pay the extra money for an Aimpoint. If you want a great quality substitute at a reasonable price then Primary Arms is the way to go. What sets Primary Arms apart is customer service. Anytime I have ever had an issue, it's been addressed and corrected immediately. In fact, I would say Primary Arms encourages feedback to better their products. I find it refreshing to see.

A major upgrade from previous generations !!
Badger22 from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

This is a major upgrade from previous generations. The glass is very clear. The dot is crisp. The brightness control dial turns easily with positive clicks at each setting. It is about the same size as the T1 Micro, although the top of the optic is a little more rounded. The rear optic housing is just a little larger than the MD-06. The emitter is low profile and does not get in the way. In my opinion, this optic is well worth the money. The pictures on the website do not do this optic justice.

This is the third PA red dot sight I've bought and they have all been superb. Nice crisp dot, easy to sight in, mounting is very secure. I've got on on each of my HK clones, and an S&W MP15-22. I only wish they had flip up covers instead of the bikini-type (but then even my Aimpoint T-1 doesn't have them)

Very very very impressed.
CT from AZ wrote on August 10, 2015:

Although I have not shot with this sight yet I am extremely pleased. It is built like a tank. It attaches to the Primary Arms sight base perfectly. The 2 MOA dot is clear and tiny! The controls are easy to use. It is nice and small. It comes with lens covers.... As long it is stays put when I fire it, I dare say that this sight is everything I need!

Very nice value
Justin from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

This is probably one of the best red dots you can buy for this little amount of money. The glass is clear, the dot is crisp and the control dial (and overall unit) has a solid feel to it. This is perfect for the hobbyist who doesn't want to spend the high price of admission for an aim point or eotech. Very happy with my purchase. Works great on my M&P 15 sport.

Very Happy

Brian Willochell from OH wrote on August 10, 2015:

Love this optic. Dot is really nice and crisp like mentioned in its description l. The over all feel of it does feel and look like a more expensive optic like the Aimpoint. It does have a slight blue/green tint thats a little dark in low light but you hardly notice when aiming with both eyes open. Held zero find even after 500+ rounds at the range. I purchased the primary arms lower 1/3 mount with no quick detatch and ƒÂt does the job and is very solid but I would upgrade to a quick detatch if able to. Over all a fantastic opric for the price and like stated in comments before. .the pics fo not fo it any justice

Awesome optic for AR15
Matt Sandoval from NM wrote on August 10, 2015:

I have yet to use this optic however from the box the construction feels solid. For basic target shooting this is perfect. I highly doubt I'll need a $700 aimpoint for target shootinf. This is a great alternative and the best part most all T1 mounts work. NOTE YOU WILL NEED A RISER.

Almost Perfect
N/A from AL wrote on August 10, 2015:

The sight itself will go against any 3-600 dollar dot out there. Great product. The mount however, isnt going up against anything. I expoxy'ed my sight to the base to keep the two together. It holds zero and is accurate even like this.

Affordable red dot
Lucian Norton from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

The primary arms micro dot is an affordable investment. When you have so many firearms, it's would be a load of cash to stick an Aimpoint T1 or H1 o them all. That's where the micro dot fills the gap, similar is function and size. It holds zero on my 7.62 AK. The primary arms micro dot I have found to be the most dependable and highest quality optic in its price range.

Well after purchasing products from PA it is invaluable to know that if you have a problem it will be fixed. PA is a good Captain. And I have gone on to purchase a couple more of these red dots due to PA customer service and the quality of the product itself. Not to mention magnifier(s), mounts, etc. And their technical support has been super fast in helping with questions. I am now a dedicated PA customer. Outstanding job PA.

This is an excellent optic, regardless of the price. I have an Aimpoint PRO and find that the glass and dot on the MD-RBGII are as clear and crisp, if not with less blue tint. The controls have a great tactile feel and the housing feels solid. Overall, I could not be more pleased and will be purchasing more PA optics! No problems so far and all indications are this is a durable and very usable package when coupled with a quality mount. If there is one piece of constructive criticism I could pass along to PA: please update the logo. You are becoming a legit name in the industry and the current logo just doesn't convey the quality and level of service that your customers have come to know. I would have rather had this optic with the cheesy font left off.

Nice optic, even better price.
Erik from N/A wrote on August 10, 2015:

This is my 3rd red dot from PA and still don't have any regrets. This new gen is great, holds zero perfectly, fit the American Defence base perfectly, smaller emitter helps that much more. My only tiny "gripe" is that this new 2moa dot isn't as bright in the higher settings as my 2 older 3 moa ones. You can still see it well enough on a summer day, just wish it had 1 more brightness. Still love it and will buy more for sure.

Perfect for the CZ Scorpion Evo A3!

When I first got it in mail, the mounting screws were in waay too solid (that's a good thing), sadly I stripped out some screws and couldn't mount it to riser. Primary arms must have 2 day shipped me a new one. I got it fast and in good condition. If you are a civilian, why do you need an aimpoint that costs half or a third of your rifle? I cant justify that. Primary arms is my first stop for optics. Keep em coming PA.

So far this has been a great sight! This is my second one from Primary Arms. Clear view with quick target acquisition. Mounted on my AR15 with Primary Arms riser, make sure you get the riser to sight screws tight. Will appear tight but wiggle once mounted on rifle, had to remove and retighten, but be careful looks like could strip with too much force. They do supply thread lock which is good.

If you are like me I tend to research equipment until it's mind-numbing! I found PA by way of a forum and was impressed by the equipment, prices, reviews & customer service. I exchanged emails back & forth with Samuel about what red dot & mount would be best for me and he was right. This Red Dot is very nice, built well, has a crisp dot and simple controls. Looks and works great on my Colt M4. Shipping is lightning fast. Thumbs up PA. Edit* Just put another 100rds through my Colt M4 using this red dot. I only need a 4 setting on the indoor range and it functioned flawlessly. It is one heck of a red dot and a great bargain to boot!

Awesome. First opened the box at night and was worried because the dot was fuzzy, like blown out and starbursting even at setting number 3, but the next day at the range in bright daylight the dot was crisp and clear, I was very satisfied. Still seems fuzzy at night, but completely functional. Mounted on an NPAP with RS regulate AK-307 and RS microdot base, co witnesses and looks ridiculously awesome. Makes follow up shots very fast. This is my 3rd PA micro dot optic. It performs just as great as the other 2, only with a slightly sharper 2moa dot and better battery life. I had one of these micro dots "until I got a high end sight", then got and sold the tier 1 sight while keeping my PA micros. For my use there is simply no better value, and no reason to dump 4x the cash into a non magnified optic.

This is the 2nd PA red dot I've purchased. I put one on my AK (which held a zero with NO issues at all!) and liked it so much, I bought another for my AR. For the price you really can't beat it. Bought the absolute co-witness riser and for less than $125 shipped, I have a good clear red dot that'll be more than I'll ever need at 1/4 of the cost of some of the others. Shipping was super fast - ordered on Friday afternoon and had it on my rifle on Monday evening. I'll be back for more, just need another rifle!

So far I am very happy with this red dot for the price. No complaints as of now. I bought this rds for my ar-15 but installed it first on my ruger 22/45 becuase i was curious how i would like shooting a handgun with red dot. Long story short i loved it and will probably be ordering another for the 22/45 but since this gun was bought to practice with open site i moved it over to the ar15 but have yet to get to the range to test it. I foresee no problems. I had a full size primary arms red dot before this one and was very happy.

Joe Denny from GA wrote on August 10, 2015:

I recently bought and mounted a sight/scope rail (UltiMAK) for my M1 Carbine (AO), then shopped for a mid-market red-dot sight. After a lot of reading reviews (of products and their vendors), watching videos, and comparing features, I settled on the PA MD-RBGii. Received it 5 days after ordering. Prepped the base & clamp screws with the provided thread locker and mounted the sight w/o any difficulty (sight approximately centered on the rail). Took the carbine to an indoor range a few days later expecting to have to spend at least an hour and a couple of boxes of ammo to zero the sight. At 50 yards, firing while hand-holding the weapon with elbows resting on the stand (no bags), 4 of the first 10 rounds were in the black, with the remainder in the white off to the left, but all dead-on in elevation. After small adjustments for windage and 20 more rounds, all rounds were within ~ 3 centered on the X. I was very pleased.

Excellent little piece of equipment. I've seen several videos of people torture testing these and they hold up incredibly well for a cheap (priced) red dot. I put this red dot on my 9mm pistol build. It performed as expected. As the name of the product states it is a "Micro" version and does not take up much room on the rail. I am not running a BUIS on this build, so I cannot comment on co-witness. The provided mount looks good and seems solid. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a small red dot, given the quality and that a 1/3 co-witness mount is provided this is an excellent value for those looking for a quality red dot for their setup.

I ordered the PA MD-RBGII with an absolute co-witness mount for a 10.5" AR I recently acquired. This is my first PA red dot and I must say I'm very happy with it. I wanted something small and light for this range toy and was not concerned with "forever battery life since it will remain œoff most of the time. The 2 MOA dot is clear and crisp, better than the TRS-25 (3 MOA dot) and very close to those on my Aimpoints. Mounting the unit was fast and easy and performance on the range was excellent. As with all my previous orders, PAs shipping and communication was first rate all the way.

Good glass clarity as always. The dot gets incredibly fuzzy though at anything but the lowest tolerable setting. Dot all but disappears in bright sunlight unless on highest setting, and the blue tint to the glass throws off 2 eye operation. I own many AR style rifles and other rugged use gear. Red dot sights have been my main go-to when it comes to any style optic out there. I started playing with them back in the early days of woods play paintball ,and was using PAs early products then, and they went through as much simulated rough use as I could tolerate, and never failed. They have done nothing but get better as the years have passed.i own one of the top name micro dots,on a Larue quick detach mount,I also own 3 of the latest PA micro's one of them being the push button model,2 of them with the Bobro quick mounts. Non of these are on paintball guns anymore and the bug out rifle is wearing the newest button model PA dot / Bobro mounted, and if that's all I got out with ,I wouldn't even worry about it. PA Micro Dot-American Defense Mount
Mario M from CA wrote on August 10, 2015:

I purchased this Micro Dot/ Mount set to use on my 15-22. Initial install to the mount was a breeze. The QD American Defense absolute co-witness mount needed a slight adjustment for the lockup to hold tight, but once it was adjusted it was perfect. It took a few minutes to zero at 25 yards but once it was zeroed it was spot on for the 2 bricks (1050 rounds)that were shot out of it, even after removing a couple times to shoot with the backup sights. The glass has a slight Blue\Greenish tint when looking though but its not too bad at all. I forgot about it once i got to the range and started shooting. I have absolutely no doubts that this will hold up on well on my 15-22, I am even getting another for my M&P 15. Don't hesitate on purchasing this optic. It went out of stock a few times before i finally got to order mine but PA keeps getting new inventory of these every few weeks. Great Red Dot!!!

First impression - Great optic for the money
BroncoAZ from AZ wrote on August 10, 2015:

I just received my MD-RBGII in the mail and opened it up. This is my first PA optic and I have to say I am impressed. I have two Aimpoint T-1 optics to compare it to. I am impressed with the clarity and lack of coloration on the glass. There is a very slight green coloration to the glass, but nothing to complain about. The 2 MOA dot looks true to form. Looking through the optic using my Eotech 3x magnifier it appears there is a small tail going up from the dot, looking with the naked eye it is not noticeable notice. I do have a slight astigmatism, so this may just be my issue, but I don't get the same issue with a Aimpoint T-1 and the magnifier. I am going to be using this optic on a Kel Tec PLR-16 and Saiga 12 for testing, but eventually I plan on mounting it on a AAC 300 Blackout H&R Handi Rifle long term. Judging my by initial impression I would not hesitate to order another one of these or recommend them to friends. Now I understand all the PA hype.

PROS:Dot, optics, finish and install more than merely good. Simple to zero, cowitness is a plus, view is crisp. 180 rounds first time out.No problems(used loktite as recommended). CONS: Minimal.Wish it could fit a magnifier on the TWS dogleg/C39 setup because beyond 55-60 yards precision drops a bit for my eyes. ALSO have read others saying bikini cover doesn't fit-just cut it out from about the 7 to 5 position so the caps angle/sit a little over the rail edges.ALSO the install with TWS DOG LEG on C39 required flat head screws, not the round head ones shipped with the unit.NO PROBLEM.Primary Arms was on it with one call and shipped the needed items ASAP no charge priority USPS.Continuing fine service from Primary Arms staff.

zeroed today in record time, seems like a quality piece. Small sharp dot with solid "click" to the MOA adjustment. I am glad, tho, that I ordered both the lower 1/3 and absolute co-witness riser mounts because my only "complaint" was that with the 1/3 riser, the emitter was visible while sighting down the iron sights, making for a very cluttered sight picture for my preference. Just something to be aware of. after swapping to the absolute co-witness mount, i couldn't be happier. Well worth the investment, and much more precise than the iron sights. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
