The Radian Raptor Ambidextrous AR-15 Charging Handle is a simple upgrade that can significantly improve the function of your rifle. It is a high-quality, durable, and user-friendly replacement for the standard charging handle. The standard charging handle can be difficult to grab quickly, and the latch unlock mechanism is only located on the left side, requiring two fingers to manipulate. The Raptor charging handle features large, textured unlocking latches on both sides of the handle, allowing for quick and easy manipulation of the weapon from either side. The latches are strong enough to be operated with the palm of the hand or the thumb.

The Raptor charging handle is made from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum, ensuring durability and resistance to bending or breaking even after extended use. It is also Mil-Spec anodized in black, with other color options available. This charging handle is 100% made in the USA and is designed to make one-handed manipulation of the AR 15 rifle easy and efficient.

Features:

  • Aircraft grade 7075 aluminum construction
  • Ambidextrous design
  • Durable latch design
  • Mil-Spec anodized black
  • 100% Made in the U.S.A.

Not a huge improvement over a standard mil-spec.

Nicely made. Works as advertised. As a left hand shooter, Meh.

Meh

Nice looking. Well made. As a left hander myself, just don't see a huge advantage with this handle. Especially considering 4x the price of most Mil Spec handles.

Charging Handle Awesomeness!!!

by

Well-constructed, functional, and aesthetically-pleasing, at least to my eyes. It's one of the best-looking charging handles, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what the two previous reviewers meant about this charging handle being "meh" for southpaws, when the right side lever is actually bigger than the left side. It works great for both righthanders as well as lefthanders!

When "good enough" isn't for you.

by

As a left hand shooter I've pretty much been forced to make due with the mil spec charging handle and roll the weapon to charge it. The raptor eliminates that extra movement and is a welcome change in pace. Is the mil spec handle "good enough?" Sure it is, but if you're looking to improve your weapons handling and make shooting with gloved hands easy and effective, then get one of these. Again, if "good enough," is good for you then don't bother spending your money on this, go buy some molon labe T-shirts or something.

raptor

I have raptors on all my rifles. I'm LEO and shoot run n gun matches. what the raptor allows me to do is transition to weak side during stages and run the bolt if needed while in a firing position w/o having to change hands or cant the rifle. if you only plink the raptor may not be worth it cost, but if its a working rifle or 2/3 gun rifle it is an asset.

First one but not last

I'm some what ambidextrous. By that I mean that I hold a fork, write and bowl left-handed. But I throw a ball and bat right handed, I can box both southpaw and right handed. So depending on the circumstances I use both hands. I shoot right handed but the raptor just gives me a much more comfortable option with the charging handle. I absolutely love it and the pull is very very smooth. Add that to Primary Arms great price that I bought it for and the fast shipping made me a very satisfied customer. I will be buying more for my other AR-15's. I still love the BCM Ambidextrous Gunfighter charging handle as well.

Latch fails to engage upper receiver.

by -

This charging handle is very light weight and easily operated with the left hand. However, the latch fails to go into battery due to a combination of a tight spring and an incorrect angle cut on the latch. The latch has too slight of an angle to go into battery with just the force of the buffer spring. Basically, the latch just hits the receiver and does not engage. To engage it into battery, I have to pull the charging handle all the way back and slam it home or gently ease the bolt carrier group with the charging handle then disengage the latch once it hits the upper receiver. I am using a mil-spec upper receiver. All other charging handles work fine. Do not waste your money on this charging handle. This was my first Raptor charging handle and I will never buy another Raptor again. Complete waste of money!

A robust war ready charging handle.

The go to Charger for all my builds now. This Raptor is a big leap in charging handle capabilities. The oversized grip makes manipulation very fast. Running a busy optic top rail set-up that is pushed all the back against the charging handle making getting to it difficult under stress? This is the solution. Right or left one handed charging is very easy. Running suppressed and don't enjoy the gas face that comes with a sloppy charger? The Raptor has you covered there too. It fits extremely snug not allowing that extra gas to be leaked into the area that you are drawing breath from. The tolerances on this handle are very precise. The only drawback is that if are trying to charge and be silent, like in hunting for instance, it may no go all the way into battery if you do not allow it to slam home so be prepared to hit that forward assist to push it into battery. That said this isn't the handle you would choose for a hunting rig anyway. This is a go to war charging handle all the way.

Latch fails to engage Upper Receiver!

by -

I so much was looking forward to this charging handle as it seem to have great reviews. I give it two stars because it is a strongly made charging handle but, it serves me no purpose if the Latch fails to engage upper receiver. I'm going to stick with my LWRC Ambi Triggers. I can get them for $60 too during Black Friday. Any unnecessary failure like this is unacceptable. I can buy bargain bin charging handles that will engage the Upper all day long.

But at least TWO of these.

I run the Raptor Ambi- charging handle on both my ARs. Got them when they still used the AXTS brand name. I have zero complaints. Allows you to a secure purchase of your coming over the handle with two fingers or just one finger from either side. Smart design without being bulky.
