Details

This high quality Bear Creek Arsenal barrel goes through its entire production life in Sanford, North Carolina at Bear Creek's facilities. Drilling, reaming, rifling, and turning are all accomplished on their CNC machines under ISO-9002 Quality Systems, allowing Bear Creek to put every barrel through a 100% inspection and air gauging process, ensuring every individual barrel is flawless before it leaves their facilities.

This 16", 1:8 twist, M4 contour barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel, heat treated to RC 28-32 hardness, and properly stress relieved. Chambered for 6.5 Grendel Type II, BCA expects that it, along with any of their barrels 16" or longer, will hold a 1.000 MOA group at 100 yards when used with appropriate ammo and shooting techniques.

Gas Port: Carbine, 0.072"

Safety Note: Choosing 6.5 Grendel comes with an added complication. There are “Type I” and “Type II” bolt/barrel specifications out there, and you CAN NOT mix and match parts for each of them without risk of damage and/or injury. Type II is by far the most popular configuration, but pay attention to what you are buying! A Type I bolt won’t chamber rounds in a Type II barrel at all. Even worse, a Type II bolt mated to a Type I barrel will create excessive headspace and result in a rifle that is dangerous to fire.

no issues

ran a few hundred of the el-cheapo wolf 100grain through it. 100% functional , accuracy seems as good as any other 16" with the steel jacketed bullets. the 24" does seem more accurate with the cheap stuff probably due the the added velocity from the rather slow powder in the wolf ammo. it will be interesting to see what it will do with a load matched up to the profile--

nice properly set up button rifled barrel , should be a great hog-buster,

<br>have heard of issue with the throats , this one seems to be freer of any issue there. haven't shot it yet but by the way it went --and the way it looks i'm not expecting any issues . sort of wish i had bought a few more during the sale!!

Awesome barrel for a great price!

Another great barrel for the same amazing price. I was able to get this one also during the flash sale. Impressed, it's 416R, machined very well, rifling is good, it's dimpled, and it functions well. Shoots sub - MOA with Hornady black/SST and 1-1.5" with steel ammo. Headspaces well with all of my type 2 bolts, no jams or hangups either, and 0 malfunctions. Would definitely buy another one if this went on sale again! Thanks primary arms!

Did not pass go gauge

by -

1st off primary arms delivered this barrel very quickly and in good packaging for a phenomenally low price. The fit and finish of this barrel is of the same quality of other barrel manufacturers. The crown was perfect and smooth, clean rifling, great dimple for the gas block. Unfortunately after installing and shooting many rounds including a break in process, I could only achieve 7 to 8 inch groups. I checked the barrel nut torque, bolt depth and lock up, different ammo (hornady sst,eld-it chewed up the brass btw), I checked the twist rate, rifling diameter, different triggers (geissele) all checked good. I finally ordered some go and no-go gauges. It did not pass the go gauge. Chamber was way too tight. Oh well, at least it was on sale for cheap....

Looks great!!
