Bear Creek Arsenal M16 Cut 5.56 NATO Complete Bolt Carrier Group - Black Nitride
Ratings & Reviews

Would have to agree with the staking is poorly done for the price on sale nothing I can't fix with some red lock tie a hammer and a metal chisel. Other than that one flaw looks and runs great. Note yes I could easily remove the staked bolts out of the gas key to put red lock tie on them reinstall and put a proper staking on them.
So Far, So Good.

Just got it installed in the upper. Still waiting on a few parts for that, but so far so good.
<br>The overall finish is nice and smooth and the stakes look good.
<br>I will update this review if it turns out to be shite.

These are GREAT! And the low price is even better! Gas key was a little light on staking, but big deal, gabbed my auto/center punch and clicked in better staking.

After 10 shots the extractor shattered like glass. It’s made with cheap metal. Bear creek arsenal is junk. Don’t waste your money with them.
MPI BCA BCG always a great product
by At the ready Armory -
MPI BCA BCG are always a flawless work of maching, never a single issue, head space well. A great buy!
'Okay'. Will work for spare. Will not buy again. Spend more, get more.

Finish on bolt itself is either super thin or improperly applied. Working the ejector pocket for 3 minutes has removed tge majority of any finish that ever existed there. Other bolts I own (Faxon, BCM, Brownells) have not had the finish literally rub off while function testing.
<br>Ejector pocket seems to have a burr or have a sharp edge on its unchamfered opening. I got hangups every ~8-10 'cycles' of my pressing spent brass into the bolt face to test ejector function.
<br>Machine work is acceptable. No sharp edges on mine. Faint swirl/machine marks are present in tight spots.
<br>Function while assembled is acceptable. Will fire this weekend and report back.
Best paper weight I own!

I purchased 2 of this BCG. Even on sale, it is over-priced. The metal work on both BCGs is course, and has several sharp and uneven edges. Working the CH, this BCG sounds like a cheese grater. That can't be good for the upper. Spend a little extra, and I suspect you will get a lot more quality. Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest available rating that I can select. My advice: avoid this BCG!
Great bang for your buck!

Good looking basic nitride covered BCGs. The one I have tried worked just fine. There is no need to buy the more expensive mil-spec BCGs, in my opinion. There were staking marks where there should be on the gas key. The finish is nice quality. PA did a great job on delivery, and the price can't be beat.
Good BCG.every thing good but the key staked
by dave -
Haven't shot with it but jacking its smooth as greased BBs,No scratches or rubs inside the upper.Machined Finnish is very good.BUT! always a but,Right? to say the key is well staked is stretch.I wouldn't shoot it the way it came.

Smooth as silk, no machining marks, no overly sharp edges, bolt came oiled. Fits my ATI omi hybrid upper perfectly, no play or binding.
Ok for the money, make sure to head space these!
by Deadhorse -
Mine arrived super fast from PA as always, BCG had some pretty bad machining marks on the underside of the carrier, one of which is so bad it appeared to be a crack at first. Bolt spins on No-Go gauge on several brand name 556 chambered barrels, was faced a couple thousands to deep. PA customer service about the issue was awesome as always. As long as you inspect these and headspace them you shouldnt have any issues, overall a affordable BCG that works as designed.
Works well for lite use.

The BCG seems to operate as intended. However, the fit with the BCA upper and barrel seems to be a little off. A better quality control system, and final part finish, would make this a five star pick. It operates fine in the 300 Black out. But I had to use a polishing stone on some of the sharp edges. It is staked, properly. It just seems that BCA could go a little further with the quality control, to make this a perfect fit. "You get, what you pay for"!
Good Quality NITRIDE BCG
Turned my buddy on to these for a set of AR's he wanted me to build for him on a tight budget, and he ordered two..I assembled the rifles for him and both have functioned fine through about 500 rounds each..The finish is decent, plenty good for the price point..The staking looks a little less than ideal, but I think it's sufficiently done. C'mon folks, stop whining about no chrome! It's not advertised as chrome lined and salt nitride is an excellent treatment for carriers that will last. He used Anderson uppers and I didn't see any indication that these carriers were "digging in" to the upper as a previous reviewer mentioned..One of these had the issue with the retaining pin, but easily fixed...I highly recommend stripping them down and do a good cleaning and re-lube with a quality lube. I was so impressed with the quality for the price, that I'm fixing to order two for myself right now
Very good and affordable

Works great in my 300 blackout CBC upper. Lined up perfect no issues and shoots just fine. Can’t beat the price definitely recommend
Super Price on a Great Bolt
by David -
Got this bolt 12-21-17.....picked up in store...$59 Bucks!!! Super Deal... This is a great qualty part...functions smooth in my Anderson upper. Took a chance even with some of the bad reviews....because I also picked up one of thier side charging bolts a couple months ago and it worked perfect.
Only if you have a gas key stacking tool
by UT AR -
Have not had a chance to run a gun with the BCG. But so far quick inspect and I'm happy with it For it's price.
<br>Some of the edges are sharp enough to cut your finger. After a few rounds I'll have to check and see if it's cutting into my upper and file it down if needs be.
<br>As for staking. Yes it is staked... But in my opinion. And this is coming from a relative Noob. It is not staked properly. I plain on buying a staking tool. And making it better. But for the price I would buy again for a cheap build..

Bought this for a low budget built. I was very impressed with the quality, nitride coated, came oiled, still took it apart and put oil on every thing. No problems, peared with a radical Arms upper from primary and a bcm ch, ran 120 rounds of 556 Brass and 20 rounds of tula steel case. No hiccups.
Really good discount BCG
by Shane -
Great discount BCG. Bought several at this point when Primary has them on sale at 60 bucks. Had to trade one back in. Seems they (BearCreek) had a bit of an issue in mid-2017 but they got it fixed and Primary was VERY helpful on the CS side of it to insure happy customers. I like to clean these and then literally soak/drown them down in oil for a moment (dripping) with a quick pat down to remove excess. Excellent performance with -0- glitches through 500 rds.<br><br>Btw....no chrome :)
$63 to my door... I ordered two!
by Steve Earl -
I can't find anything negative to say about it!
<br>I ran it in 2 different uppers and it performed flawlessly. I also like the "hex" looking cuts on the carrier sides. They make it stand out and give it a quality, robust look.
<br>These are top quality. The gas key is properly staked and the finish is nice. I ordered one to try it out, just ordered another and suggested to my buddy to do the same for his build.
Poor Quality Control
Gun would not cycle, the gas key was not installed correctly, the guide rails on the bolt were so sharp they were cutting into my upper receiver and had to polish them. Poor quality control.
You get what you pay for!
by Ry -
Thanks PA for fast shipping as always. This BCG is not the best quality, I preformed a function check which seemed fine until I dry fired and pulled the charging handle and couldn't get the bolt to cycle back until I pulled a few times. I've never had this problem in the past. I don't recommend buying this BCG.
This is a sleeper BCG.

The carrier is nitride coated and the bolt is parkerized. It's not supposed to be chrome plated anywhere. The nitride coating is better than chrome plating anyway. It looks every bit as good as any of my other bolt carriers.
Addressing Some Things Other Reviewers Mentioned
by Trevor -
Not sure where the reviewer below got any idea that a nitrided bolt carrier needs to be chrome lined. Nitriding is a superior metal treatment with low friction already.
<br>The spec sheet on the right side of the product page also clearly states that the bolt is parkerized. No indication or reason to believe otherwise when purchasing.
<br>As one reviewer already mentioned, the retaining pin is a little finicky to handle but I've managed to seat it properly without any permanent modification to the bolt or the carrier.
<br>The gas key staking does look a little shoddy and I'll likely try to restake it myself in the future. I managed to put 180 rounds through this BCG so far without any gas key movement. It should hold just fine for the time being.
<br>It's a pretty decent deal on a bolt carrier group although most buyers are likely looking for either parkerizing or nitriding--not a mix of both. For me, it was a birthday gift so I really can't complain.
Need better quality control

Nice price and finish but when I took it apart to clean of the factory sticky oil they used, I found the firing pin retaining pin was very hard to remove. I cleaned the BCG up, oiled it and when I tried to put the retaining pin back in, it would not go. Turning the pin and trying several more times resulted in the same thing. It would not go into the opposite side of the BCG. I took the firing pin out and watched as I inserted the retaining pin and saw that it was hitting the end of the gas carrier bolt which deflected the retaining pin so it would not go in the hole. Had to use a dremel tool and grind down the protruding bolt end until the retaining pin went into the hole without interference.
not chrome,,, that's funny!!!!!
nowhere does it say chrome! its not supposed to be! especially at this price. these bolts are fine. at least know what your talking about before posting a poor review.
