Good

Works great, looks good. Good product by KAK for fraction of the cost vs Noveske.

Awesome muzzle device for an SBR

by

This is a great muzzle device for my SBR. Directs the majority of the noise downrange, making it much more comfortable on the ears...brings the perceived sound from the shooters position to somewhere around .22 WMR levels. Fit snugly under my Diamondhead VRS handguard. Outside diameter is 1.36in, but the do have a "slim" version of this same flash can available that is 1.2in that should fit under pretty much anything. Installation is easy...I didn't use a crush washer and torqued it directly against the shoulder per the manufacturer recommendations and haven't had it loosen after 450 rounds.

Follow-up

by

This is a follow-up to my previous review. I had a few issues with the flash can coming loose during shooting. With no torque specs, I had torqued it against the shoulder at 20 ft/lbs. I chose this because it should be tight enough without over-tightening, and I installed it against the shoulder because that's what the description here says to do. After the loosening issue, I emailed KAK Industry, asking about torque specs or whether a crush washer was recommended. I got the following response within 30 minutes.

"Either will work, if you have issues with it loosening or want it timed a certain way you will need to use a crush washer. There are no official torque specs, but 20 ft/lbs should be sufficient.

After installing a crush washer, not only was I able to time it so it looks a little better, but it fixed the issue I was having.

Works!

Works great with my Extar EP9. Seems a little quieter and a little less recoil than the factory flash can.
It's heavier than the factory and other extended linear comps.
Also, instead of a big hollow tube, it has an interesting internal 'funnel' design.
Extar uses a split washer to mount their factory comp. KAK tech said a washer wasn't required but wouldn't hurt, especially if I needed to time it. So I used the factory split washer, hand tight, and it hasn't loosened yet.
