AR500 Armor's blunt force trauma pads are a must-have add on for every plate carrier. Simply place the pad between your armor plates and your body to reduce the blunt force trauma caused by impacts to the armor plates. These panels do not offer ballistic protection and only reduce energy transfer from the plates to your body.

  • 10" x 12" pattern with ASC cuts
  • Lightweight at 5.9 Oz
  • Ultra-thin pad is just 0.25"
  • Reduces energy transfer from armor
  • Reduces injury from backface deformation
  • Does not increase ballistic protection

Body armor doesn't work quite like it does in the movies. When it defeats a round, the energy is not magically disippated into the ether. That energy is instead transferred through the plate and dispersed into your body. With soft armor and steel plates, the back face of the armor can be deformed, causing injuries. The AR500 Armor blunt force trauma pad is super thin, yet can noticeably reduce the energy that gets pushed transferred through the plate and the threat of backface deformation. At just 5.9 Oz, these lightweight pads are a no brainer for anyone serious about their protection.

Since 2012, AR500 Armor has produced high quality, reliable, and affordable options for personal body armor. They feature offerings for soft armor, steel plates, and ceramic panels, as well as a variety of tactical goods. Even better, they are located in Phoenix, Arizona!
