Armor Express Vortex Level IIIA Female Soft Armor

The Armor Express Vortex Gen 2 is the second generation of Vortex soft ballistic armor, suitable for use as a concealed vest or as overt body armor for patrol or tactical teams.

Vortex soft body armor takes advantage of advanced composite ballistic fibers, using a combination of flex-woven Twaron® and Honeywell Gold Shield® aramid to create a low-profile, lightweight vest with a high protection level.

This vest is NIJ 0101.06 Certified Level IIIA body armor, tested using the V50 ballistic process to stop .357 SIG FMJ-FN at 1766 ft/s. As Level IIIA armor, it is also capable of stopping high-powered handgun and shotgun threats, including the following:

• All Level II threats (9x19mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 12 gauge birdshot and buckshot, low- and medium-velocity 10mm Auto)
• .357 SIG
• High-velocity 10mm Auto
• 12 gauge slugs
• .44 Magnum

This version of the Level IIIA Vortex Gen 2 is the female model, featuring a thickness of 0.23” and a contoured cut designed explicitly to fit a woman’s body more snugly and securely than typical gender-neutral body armor products.
