The Ballistic Advantage Performance Series of barrels offer a ton of improvements over standard offerings. This 16” AR-15 barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO and features the lightweight Hanson profile. It is made from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a durable and slick QPQ salt bath Nitride finish for long term corrosion resistance while the barrel extension features a Nickel Boron coating. The M4 feed ramps are a high wear point and the harder Nickel Boron will stand up to thousands of rounds rubbing against it. The mid-length low profile gas block comes from the factory pre-installed and pinned for a rock solid and reliable setup. The 1:7 twist rate helps to stabilize heavier rounds especially out of a barrel this short. Threaded 1/2x28 for all your favorite muzzle brakes, so you can launch fireballs down range. High pressure tested, and magnetic particle inspected, this Ballistic Advantage 5.56 barrel is great for building your next carbine.

Just get it

This barrel saved my life. Was getting 6" to 8" groups and tried everything. "Surely I didnt receive a bad barrel" I thought. I took a chance on BCA so I bought this ballistic advantage barrel and immediately got 1" groups. DONE with Bear Creak. One and done. I even bought one of their "higher end" barrels if there is such a thing.

The Nickel Boron extension is cool. Maybe not necessary but won't hurt anything. The profile is good. Not too light, not too heavy. Very nice finish.

The gas block is really good. It comes with two set screws that go on the bottom and then you drive a roll pin through. The set screws are good for holding the gas block in place while you drive the roll pin. The roll pin is not too tight. It comes wrapped in plastic separate from the barrel and gas block so you don't need to start by unpinning the gas block.

Alignment is very good. The gas tube lined up effortlessly.

No issue putting on the flash suppressor.

The gas port is sized correctly. Ejection was at 4 o'clock and recoil was pleasant.

It ships inside a cardboard protective tube.

No comments on accuracy due to bad wind conditions and no match ammo on hand to use.

Headspace passed easily.

Function was 100%.
