The Bugout's drop point blade is made from M390 stainless steel, a premium powder metallurgy steel known for holding an edge well while resisting corrosion. Aluminum handle scales keep the knife exceptionally light for its size, making it easy to carry all day without noticing the extra weight in a pocket. Every Benchmade blade starts as laser-cut high-grade steel before being ground, beveled, and finished by hand to tight tolerances, and the handles are milled and machined in-house before final hand assembly and sharpening.

The Bugout is available in several handle finishes, including gray and blue anodized aluminum, along with an elevated 535BK-07 variant featuring Burnt Brass anodized aluminum scales, a black DLC battlewash finish on the blade, and turquoise anodized accents on the thumb stud and barrel spacer for a knife that looks as good carried around town as it performs in the field.
