The CMMG 300 AAC Blackout is made from 4140 Chrome Moly Steel and comes with CMMG's unique and durable salt bath nitride finish. This Blackout barrel is more durable than most because the treatment surface-hardens the metal, extends its service life, reduces friction, and minimizes bore surface wear. The unique bath nitride finish also makes cleaning and maintenance easier because the hard, slick surface of the barrel resists carbon adhesion and improves corrosion resistance. The nitriding process CMMG uses converts the surface of the barrel without any build-up.
This nitride process from CMMG also retains all the properties of a traditional chromed-lined barrel without suffering accuracy loss seen by uneven chrome application inside the barrel bore. The CMMG 300 AAC Blackout features a 1:7 twist rate rifling and a carbine length gas system with a muzzle that's threaded 5/8 - 24 TPI. The 300 AAC Blackout is suitable for subsonic or supersonic calibers and supports either suppressed or unsuppressed firing, making it an extremely versatile addition to your AR15 build. Although the gas block and tube are not included, the 300AAC from CMMG supports a carbine gas port location and a standard exterior diameter gas port of 0.0750 inches.
