I’m 100 rounds into a careful break-in on my 18” 1:8 Criterion barrel for a budget .223 Wylde DMR upper without breaking the bank. Good looking finish and bore. Everything went together smoothly with Aero parts and Rubber City BCG. Gas block dimple was properly located, and gas port is generous. Barrel-to-receiver fit, while not sloppy, was not super tight either, so I set it with Loctite 620.
Bore cleans up easily. Managed a couple of 0.8” 5-shot 100 yd. groups yesterday with IMI 77 gr. OTM Mod 1 (MK262 clone). Most other factory loads ranging from 55-77 grains were coming in at just over an inch but it got a little breezy. Barrel shows no particular preference between .55 vs .223.
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with results thus far. I think it will get even better with continued use. What more can you expect from a $200 barrel?! BTW, order was delivered in 23 hours!! Thanks PA for great selection, prices and service!!
