It’s time to upgrade your AR-15 with the Daniel Defense MFR XL Free Float Handguard. Using a free float handguard offers many improvements over the standard two-piece handguards common on M4 style rifles. Eliminating the contact points between the handguard and barrel helps to increase accuracy as well as reduce weight at the muzzle end of your barrel. The MFR XL also reduces weight due to the M-LOK attachment system that allows you to attach rail sections wherever you need them instead of having heavy rails along the entire handguard. Some grips, bipods, lights, and other accessories can be directly attached to the handguard without the need of a rail at all. However, this 9” AR-15 handguard does have a continuous picatinny top rail, so you can attach back up sights without fear of losing zero. Another main feature of this M-LOK handguard is the patented mounting system. The steel barrel nut locks tight to the handguard and the anti-rotation tabs make it easy to install and align. It also has an increased internal diameter of 1.61” which is designed to give enough clearance for most suppressors, so you can run a short, suppressed barrel with a rail that extends as far as possible. With the 9” rail option, it will fully cover up to a carbine length gas system and partially cover mid-length gas systems. The rear portion of this handguard has 4 integral QD sling swivel sockets, so you can use a sling on either the right or left hand side.
