The Diamondback DBX gives 5.7x28mm shooters an AR-pattern pistol built around a slim, monolithic upper instead of a repurposed rifle receiver. Built for maneuverability, this semi-automatic pistol pairs a folding brace with a magazine that accepts FN Five-seveN pattern magazines.

Rather than adapting a standard AR-15 upper to the 5.7x28mm cartridge, Diamondback machines the DBX's upper as a single monolithic piece, which contributes to a notably slim build that measures roughly 1.75 inches wide at the controls and closer to 1 inch wide along most of the pistol's length. A locked breech dual gas piston system with four adjustment settings lets shooters tune reliability to their ammunition, and the 8-inch, 1:9-twist stainless steel barrel is threaded 1/2x28 for a flash hider or aftermarket muzzle device. The SB Tactical FS1913 side-folding brace collapses the pistol from 25.4 inches down to 16.9 inches for easier transport and storage, and the pistol ships with a 20-round magazine compatible with the FN Five-seveN.

Diamondback Firearms designs and builds its rifles and pistols in Cocoa, Florida, machining its own receivers rather than outsourcing that work to a third party.
