Rough machine marks and lighter than specified
by RockieGotaAr10 -
I just the expo arms ar10 5.3oz (nope) buffer in. Went straight to my reloading scale and it hit 5.1oz and would teeter 5 oz, I don’t want to be a Karen. It for $38 I need all the weights I ordered. Next time I’ll by a name brand PA WAS SUPER FAST shipping but my buffer was a little lighter than I ordered. Thumbs down for that. I wish I could upload pictures on the scale
Thank you for following up with us and letting us get you taken care of!
Not Bad
by Archer
I've got one of these in a .308 and another ready to put in another. When I weigh the ones I have come in at 5.1 oz instead of claimed 5.3oz. Length is 2.5" Seem to work quite well but minus one star for not hitting the claimed weight.
Piece of the Puzzle on a over-gassed AR10 Upper
by John on the Blue Ridge
Have a 308 BCA upper that was extremely over-gassed (primers showing pressure signs, actually blew a few, 1-3 o'clock erratic ejection, 7-12 foot away, couple casings doing a 180 turn in the port) Long story/short, between the 5.3 buffer and a heavy spring coupled with an adjustable gas block the upper exhibits no pressure signs whatsoever and functions perfectly. Gun really smoothed out with the buffer and heavy spring. After getting gas block adjusted have shot 125, 150, and 168 bullets loaded light to heavy with no issues.
update to heavy buffer and orange sprinco spring
by Joey -
my 1st review above - the heavy buffer and orange spring helped greatly with tuning the gas & recoil. I had to add a simple adjustable gas block and further tweaked the .308 to the point it will feed and eject any type of ammunition steel or brass and the pattern of empty cases is 4:00-5:00 consistently. I am very satisfied with the .308 weapon performance now. that sucker is dialed-in. I believe the gas port of the 18-inch barrel is too large, which is why the weapon required all of the above. now I have an AR 5.56 with a very small gas port at rifle-length on a 16" barrel and currently installing softer springs and lighter buffer so this weapon is exactly opposite the .308 - go figure.
Heavy buffer & spring helps, but not 100%.

I bought this & the extra heavy sprinco Orange buffer spring because the .308 exhibited traits of being over-gassed, the most obvious a 2:00 o'clock ejection pattern. I was hoping this $70 worth of parts would put the empty brass at 4:00 o'clock but no. I'm at 3:00 o'clock consistently. So I may yet spend more money on a new gas block too. PA is fast to fulfill orders and ship out. I got the parts before the charge officially cleared my bank account. This is a well manufactured piece of kit. Would buy again for a different build
