The Forward Controls Design ASF-90Q Command Actuation Edition is a defense and duty-grade ambidextrous safety selector designed from the ground up for hard use — with Q offset levers that bring the lever closer to the shooter's thumb in the fire position for faster, more positive return to safe without breaking grip, and an 800 lbf 420 stainless steel roll pin interface that makes the lever-to-center connection virtually indestructible under any foreseeable load.

The ASF-90Q-CA is a semi-auto 90-degree throw ambidextrous safety selector with Q offset levers and Command Actuation center, compatible with standard AR-15/.223 lower receivers.

Q levers are side-specific offset levers — by shifting the lever position toward the shooter's thumb when the selector is in the fire/semi position, the user can rotate back to safe with a natural thumb motion rather than shifting grip or repositioning the hand. With the selector on fire, the right-side lever resembles the letter Q, which gives the lever its name. The leg of the Q lever should always be biased toward the top for correct orientation. The Command Actuation center provides the ambidextrous function, allowing both left- and right-hand actuation from either side of the receiver. The lever-to-center interface uses an 800 lbf 420 stainless steel roll pin that holds the levers in place with immense strength — the pin retains the lever but does not handle any actuating load, meaning the structural integrity of the connection is maintained regardless of actuation force or frequency. 90-degree throw moves the selector from safe to fire in a single quarter-turn rotation.
