Hesco Armor 400 Series 4400 Ballistic Insert - Level IV Multi Curve SAPI Cut - Medium

The Hesco Armor 400 Series is a line of armor plates designed to provide cost-effective protection in high-threat situations, such as active shooter scenarios. 

All Hesco 400 Series armor plates use Spectra® UHMWPE composite armor materials in their construction. Spectra® is 15 times stronger than steel while having eight times the strength-to-weight ratio, granting it exceptional ballistic protection.

The 400 Series Model 4400-SA-MC-L Ballistic Insert provides the wearer with Level IV rifle threat protection. This plate will stop the following:

• All NIJ certified pistol-caliber threats (IIA, IIIA) up to .44 Magnum.
• All NIJ certified shotgun threats, including 00 buckshot and 1 oz. slugs.
• NIJ certified Level III rifle caliber threats, including 7.62×51mm NATO ball (M80, 6 hits).
• NIJ certified Level IV rifle caliber threats, including .30-06 Springfield armor-piercing (M2AP, 1 hit)
• Several special rifle threats, including 5.56×45mm lead core (M193, 6 hits), 7.62×39mm lead core (M67, 6 hits), .30-06 Springfield soft-point (1 hit), 5.56×45mm steel penetrator (M855, 3 hits), 7.62×54mmR lead core (LPS, 1 hit), 7.62×39mm armor-piercing incendiary (3 hits), 7.62×51mm armor-piercing (M61, 1 hit), and 7.62×54mmR armor-piercing incendiary (B32, 1 hit)

Level IV is the highest armor protection rating specified in NIJ 0101.06, providing maximum ballistic protection against virtually all pistol-, shotgun-, and rifle-caliber threats commonly encountered in the United States.

This multi-curved Medium-size plate features a mil-spec SAPI cut, covering the torso and vitals without causing discomfort to the shoulders or clavicles. Best used as frontal armor in the plate carrier or tactical rig of your choice.
