JP Enterprises Enhanced 5.56/.223/300BLK Bolt Assembly Kit
JP Enhanced Bolt assembly completion group includes firing pin, cam pin and retainer pin for 5.56/.223/.300BLK calibers. This version of the bolt is compatible with any AR-15 platform using a Mil-spec bolt carrier and sub-components. The latest edition JP Enhanced Bolt is made from SAE 9310 high-grade steel. This material makes for an extremely hard surface with a tough, ductile core resistant to structural failure and a life expectancy far exceeding Mil-spec C-158 bolts. SAE 9310 is the same type of steel used in the transmission gears of Formula One racecars, and the high-load application of a bolt assembly is ideal for this state-of-the-art material; the results of actual full-auto endurance torture tests prove it. The design of the JP Enhanced Bolt addresses many other fine points, the most important of which is the utilization of a standard configuration extractor. Most users want the ability to replace extractors and other parts with commonly available Mil-spec parts instead of being dependent on proprietary parts that can be difficult to acquire. Therefore, this new bolt will accept standard extractors, pins and springs.

Best bolt I have ever owned, but.....

This is by far the best bolt I have ever owned in terms of fit, finish, and craftsmanship. But, I wish JP would include an equally nice cam pin to match so I don't have to hunt all over to find one with the quality to match.

Well made bolt but lack of attention to assembly

I measured the JP bolt and found it to be one of the higher quality bolts in terms of dimensions. About on-par with LaRue's bolts that are included in their ultimate uppers. I found that these measured about 0.156" from the back of the lug to the bolt face which is at the tight end of the space and should yield consistent headspacing. The looser spec bolts (e.g. cheap / dubious / run of the mill parts bin bolts) are 0.153"-0.154"
The problem with my JP Bolt is that they just jammed the extractor spring into place and caused it to deform and bend. They should have paid a bit more attention to the assembly. So I had to buy a new extractor spring and boy, I went through several springs before ending up going with the BCM kit because they offered a good balance of wire diameter and number of coils. Too thick of a wire / too many coils can cause issues.
