The new Kershaw Cryo II is 20% larger than the original award-winning Cryo but shares many of the same features. The Kershaw Cryo II is the result of collaboration between Rick Hinderer; renowned, high quality knife maker, and the design and product engineers at Kershaw. It takes the design principles based on Rick’s real-world experience as a firefighter and EMT and combines them with the affordability of Kershaw knives resulting in a functional knife that won’t break the bank. Like many of Rick Hinderer’s most popular designs, the Cryo II is made from pure stainless-steel that is coated with a matte gray titanium carbo-nitride. This prevents the blade from rusting while still being aesthetically pleasing. The blade design resembles a drop-point with lends itself to extreme durability at the tip to keep it from breaking under stress. For secure blade lock up, the Cryo II feauters a tough frame lock with lockbar stabilization. The Cryo II also features Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening for fast and easy one-handed opening that can be accessed by the ambidextrous flipper or thumb studs.

  • SpeedSafe assisted opening for fast and smooth operation
  • Frame lock design with lockbar stabilizer for a strong lockup
  • Ambidextrous flipper and thumb studs
  • 4 position deep carry pocket clip for versatile carrying options
  • Jimping along the blade and handle for extra grip
  • Lanyard hole
  • Blade steel: 8Cr13MoV, titanium carbo-nitride coating
  • Handle material: 410 stainless steel, titanium carbo-nitride coating
  • Blade length: 3.25 in. (8.3 cm)
  • Closed length: 4.4 in. (11.1 cm)
  • Overall length: 7.75 in. (19.7 cm)
  • Weight: 5.5 oz. (155.9 g)

The Cryo II design is slightly larger with a 3.25” blade but is still extremely slim, lending itself to be a superb option for EDC or tactical uses. It includes a four-position deep carry pocket clip to customize exactly how you want to carry it. The knife and handle also have jimping, or grooves, to increase grip while using the knife in adverse conditions. Combining the knowledge of Rick Hinderer with the affordability of Kershaw and their innovative SpeedSafe technology has given rise to an EDC knife that can be appreciated by all.

From award-winning technologies and advanced materials to the solid sound of the blade lockup, when you’re carrying a Kershaw, you know you’re carrying the real thing. Kershaw has been designing and manufacturing knives and tools since 1974 while innovating with new ideas that change the knife industry for the better. Their knives have many features such as SpeedSafe assisted opening, interchangeable blades, and composite blade technology which increases strength and edge retention.

China Kerhaw not much better then $5 cheap knife.

by -

The Speedsafe system on mine would only lock up approx 50-60% of the time, about 20% of the time the blade would only deploy to 90-120 Degrees. Not what you want in a assisted opening knife. I have several USA made Kershaw knifes and have never had a problem, this was my first China Kershaw. Waited about a month to see if it needed to wear in, also cleaned and put a little oil in. Still about the same, perhaps a little better, contacted Kershaw. Their response was I could ship it to them to be looked at on my dime or they would send me parts? Not a knife smith, so I declined to waste any more time or money on this. Also much bulkier then the CRYO 1, I would take a pass there is better stuff out there for $20

Great Knife

Love this knife. It opens smoothly an quickly. Came extremely sharp. This is my edc knife.

My EDC for a couple years now

I really love this knife! So much so that I own a second one as a back-up in the unfortunate circumstance I accidentally lose the one I carry daily. It does take a little time and oil to get the assisted opening to settle in, but honestly not that much and it's no different than other knives when brand new. I admittedly don't baby it. Full disclosure, I accidentally snapped the tip off of the original blade through what some might consider inappropriate use. I was in a pinch and it was the tool in my hand. I sent it back to Kershaw and they replaced/installed the blade. I paid only shipping, which was less than half the retail price to replace it.
