LMT Ejection Port Cover Pin

The LMT Ejection Port Cover Pin attaches your AR-15 ejection port cover to your rifle. Better known as a "dust cover," the ejection port cover is an important piece to your rifle. Keep dirt and debris out of your rifle and always close the port cover when not in use. For less than optimal conditions, an ejection port cover is great for use from dry, dusty conditions to rainy, muddy conditions.

Depending on your rifle lower, the AR-15 ejection port cover will not have a place on a sport upper receiver. These typically do not use an ejection port cover or a forward assist. Be sure your upper has an insert for the ejection port cover pin to install a port cover. This ejection port cover pin is for use on AR-15 platforms only. Machined for a precise fit, when closed, the ejection port cover should click into place and stay closed until the round in the chamber is fired and brass ejects, or until you pull the charging handle and bolt backward.

Installing an ejection port cover with the port cover pin can be tricky to do without ruining the finish on an upper receiver. Be sure to assemble carefully or take it to a gunsmith to assemble for you. It's very easy to bend the pin so if you're assembling yourself, be sure to use a proper punch and be aware of any bend in the metal.
