The LMT Takedown Detent Spring is one of the parts you will need in order to finish your AR build or to replace a lost detent spring. If you’re anything like us, you have probably lost one of these in the process of doing either an AR build or a total clean of an upper receiver. You thought you had your hand covering the correct spot, but as you pulled out your front pin from the AR upper, you hear, but didn’t quite see, the spring launch itself somewhere into the next country. IF you’re lucky, you found it. But, since you’re here, we assume you didn’t.
Or, perhaps, you’re building a new AR and need a decent spring. Either way, you’re going to want to pick up a handful of these to have on hand at your workbench for the occasions when you need one. These springs, by LMT, will serve the job reliably for years to come. A few things should be a part of any AR owner’s toolkit, including these springs to keep the gun functioning as intended no matter what you might manage to break or lose on the range. In terms of installation, these springs can be a little tricky once the detent is in, and a small tool called a clevis pin, if you find one of the ones that’s the same size as an AR takedown pin and has holes in it, can really help keep the detent in place. The LMT Takedown Detent Spring is one of the parts you need for your AR.
