Nice features but mine doesn't hold up...
I bought this optic a couple of years ago. I had issues with the battery cap right off the bat. Finally returned it to Lucid and they replaced the cap but told me the "canted chevron" was within their tolerances.
I have this mounted on a back-up AR which I was forced to use this past weekend when the trigger on my primary weapon started giving me unwanted double-taps during a two-day carbine class. Two rounds out of the second gun and the optic stopped functioning.... again. Finished the course using my MBUS Pros. Eh.... needed the practice anyway.
So now this optic is going in a box of old holsters and I'm be ordering another Spitfire or PA 3X Compact Prism.

Great optic for the price. I use it on my main rifle and backup with the 2X magnifier, have never had an issue with it. Used it in a day course in Nevada with no problem.
Choose a crosshair and stick with it.

Reticle was canted and had to send it back. Lucid Customer service was a little dismissive in the beginning but ended up replacing the whole unit.
I laser boresighted this sight using the red dot. When it was switched to the chevron it wasnt at the point of the chevron, when switched to the circle with the dot, it was also off center. So i would suggest choose a crosshair and stick with it.
I stuck to the chevron and its solid once sighted in. It does suck that I cannot use all 3 at will without having to readjust every time.
I might have to send it back to correct that, but i dont know...
Not bright enough.
So far it holds zero good. I like the different reticles. The deal breaker for me was that it needs to be brighter. Try using it on a really bright day and the reticle is impossible to see. Unacceptable for a main optic on a weapon. The company is awesome. and they have a really fast response time. but the replacement I got was exactly the same. I should have just spent money on a name brand. I'll keep it for a toy or for a 22. But not going on my AR thats for sure.
This is a nice budget red dot. However it washes out horribly in daylight at 15 yards and greater. Thanks to P.Arms and there outstanding customer service. I was able to get what I needed in the end. Thanks P.Arms 5 stars to you but only 2 stars to the Lucid HD7 Gen III. Be VERY aware if you ever plan on using the Lucid HD7 Gen III at an outdoor range.
You get what you pay for...
Bought and mounted in preparation for a carbine class. During zeroing I noticed the reticle was canted a bit. No big deal I can still work with it. However 50 rounds into my class a huge black flake of something let go from the inside of the scope and attached itself to the front lens. This was no good. As soon as I got home the optic came off and went straight back to Primary Arms. Huge plus to Primary Arms for taking it back and issuing a credit. I would not recommend this optic.
The red dot is definitely on par with optics that cost twice as much. If you can grab one of the these while they are on sale you really get a smokin deal.
Bought this on sale wish I had bought two. I'll keep looking for another sale Even at full price it is worth every cent.
Worth every penny - as good as my ACOG
I own an ACOG EoTech and Sightmark. My HD7 is my favorite - this red dot holds it's zero while costing a thousand dollars less than my ACOG. Check out the reviews on Youtube. This red dot can hold its own against ACOG and EoTech!
