Details

The Barrel Extension Vise is an all-in-one, compact vise block for the AR-15/M4. Takes the worry out of applying torque to your upper when installing and removing barrel nuts and muzzle devices by engaging the barrel extension with solid steel lugs and a full-length support shank to prevent flexing. This prevents torque from being transferred to the softer aluminum receiver.

Mounts securely in a vise and provides support for both billet and forged upper receivers. Steel hardness is optimized for durability yet won't damage barrel extension, and Magpul Polymer is used for all other engagement surfaces to protect the aluminum receiver. An O-ring post uses the bolt carrier for additional stability and an included pin keeps the upper receiver in proper position. The BEV may also be turned over and used as a mag well vise block to support the lower receiver during maintenance, etc.

The BEV Block has been a fantastic tool for torquing the barrel nut, attaching a muzzle brake and working on my lower receiver. If you need a tool for these tasks you should definitely consider the BEV block!

Great Armorer's Tool

The Magpul BEV Block works great on my AR-15 rifle. It fits solidly in the upper for any work I need to do on the barrel or compensator. Flip it over in the vise and it holds the lower (mag well) too. I want to thank Primary Arms for applying a coupon code that I missed on a previous purchase to my purchase of the BEV Block.

Doesn't lock in the upper like I hoped

When torquing barrels on uppers with loose pin slots, I had hoped that the way the BEV block locks in the upper it would prevent the barrel from canting when torquing. It did not. However, this is still a much better way to torque barrels than the clamshell method and is a low cost/high value alternative to the Geissele reaction rod.
