Details

The Barrel Extension Vise is an all-in-one, compact vise block for the AR-15/M4. Takes the worry out of applying torque to your upper when installing and removing barrel nuts and muzzle devices by engaging the barrel extension with solid steel lugs and a full-length support shank to prevent flexing. This prevents torque from being transferred to the softer aluminum receiver.

  • Body made from the same high-quality polymer as other Magpul products
  • Weight: 11.2 oz
Mounts securely in a vise and provides support for both billet and forged upper receivers. Steel hardness is optimized for durability yet won't damage barrel extension, and Magpul Polymer is used for all other engagement surfaces to protect the aluminum receiver. An O-ring post uses the bolt carrier for additional stability and an included pin keeps the upper receiver in proper position. The BEV may also be turned over and used as a mag well vise block to support the lower receiver during maintenance, etc.

I like it, fits good and seems very very durable.I don't like the having to take my bolt out of the BCG and sliding it back into my upper. BUT, its better than nothing and beats most others.

You need this!

Solid tool. Has steel core in it so it won't deform. Better than a torque bar or reaction rod or what ever you want to call it. Made installing the barrel a lot easier.
If you do any work on your AR, you need this.

Magpul BEV Block w/ a twist

Great tool I didn't like the idea of taking bolt out of carrier ( not that its a big deal ). Plus the carrier didn't support it well enough IMHO. I got some non food grade (black) UHMW round stock an machined it down bored to fit back of BEV block..Nice and snug. Shit you could use aluminum steel what ever. Also Primary Arms has been great to deal with and shipping ? these cats don't screw around!!!!

This was my first time building a ar didn`t want to spend too much on a tool so I decided to try this. The design works only downfall is you have to strip the bcg down but thats no big deal. It fit the lugs in my ballistic advantage barrel just fine. Would buy again!

Worked as advertised. Clever design. Glad I purchased. Works similar to the Geissele Reaction Rod when torquing (or loosening) a barrel nut but offers additional support as a bearing surface along the bottom edge of the upper receiver. And it can be used to chuck a lower in the vice too.. I think it's a keeper!
