The Magpul B.A.D. Lever (Battery Assist Device) is designed to address the challenges of reloading and malfunction clearance that can arise with the AR-15/M16 platform. The B.A.D. Lever significantly improves the bolt catch by extending a paddle on the right side of the weapon, allowing the shooter to manipulate the bolt stop from the natural ready position with the right-hand trigger finger, resulting in faster and more efficient handling.
The B.A.D. Lever is constructed from high-quality billet 6061-T6 aluminum and features an anti-snag profile and textured surface for enhanced grip. It is compatible with MIL-SPEC forged AR-15/M16 receivers and attaches to the existing bolt catch paddle via one screw. The device is crafted with MIL-A-8625F, Type III, Class 2 hardcoat anodizing, ensuring its durability and resistance to wear and tear. The mounting screw is coated with manganese phosphate and features a Nyloc Blue patch for added security. The device also comes with a Torx wrench for easy installation.
The B.A.D. Lever is incompatible with large frame (7.62x51/.308 Winchester) firearms, most AR-15 billet or polymer upper/lower receivers, or S&W Magpul Spec Series lower receivers. However, it is functional for left and right-handed shooters and allows for conventional bolt catch manipulation. The B.A.D. Lever is an excellent addition to any AR-15/M16 platform, providing enhanced reliability and ease of use in critical situations.

Bad Lever

Could not beat the price. I know this is a quality piece of equipment due to the fact that it came from Primary Arms and they only sell quality.Again staff was great and it is truly a pleasure to go to Primary Arms.

Depends on your bolt catch and low it may not work

Dependent on the amount of clearance your bolt catch has with your lower, this may not work. The lower I have has a somewhat thick amount of metal where the bolt catch pin to the lower. Because of this, there's not alot of exposed clearance between the hinge and the bolt catch pad. Since the B.A.D Lever clamps on by cover up the pad, it requires some space. I don't have enough of that gap with my lower, so I can't install the B.A.D Lever.

Due to an ignorant brother-in-law, I got to put this B.A.D. to use the first time taking it out. What a valuable feature. I don't think I'll buy or build another rifle without one!
BAD Lever

Easily installed the BAD Lever on two of my ARs. Checked them out at home and they work great. Only been to the range once so far and I'm really liking the lever for right hand operation. Can't wait for my next training classes to try it out and see how to best incorporate it into drills.
