The Mantis Blackbeard is a revolutionary dry fire training system for the AR-15. All people who perform dry fire training with their AR-15 know that they have to pull the charging handle to reset the trigger after every shot, but with the Mantis Blackbeard Auto-Resetting Trigger system this is no longer a problem. This training device is a drop-in bolt carrier group and magazine that works with your existing trigger to allow up to 10 shots without having to use the charging handle to reset. Simply takedown your AR, remove your existing bolt carrier group, drop in the Mantis Blackbeard, insert the magazine to provide power, and start your dry fire training.

Features:
  • Dry Fire Training System
  • Red Laser
  • Drop-In Training Bolt Carrier Group
  • Battery Pack Training Magazine
  • Auto-Resets the Trigger
  • 10 Shots Per Second
  • 10,000 Shots Per Charge

This training device replicates the same trigger break, reset and hammer pull that your used to, without having to recharge the handle or having to perform any modifications to your AR. The red laser provides visual feed back to see exactly where your shot is going.

Worth every penny

I bought this on a 50/50 shot it would be worth it, per the reviews I have read and watched. It is hands down worth it. Buy in confidence. I would suggest that when you install the bcg/ch combo, to pull it back out and see where there is build up. Meaning lubricate where you see grease marks. It will need to be greased to ensure no extra wear is made.

Great training tool

Its a great training too in its own right. Combing the Blackbeard with their other products it certainly has even more potential. Mine occasionally rapid fires when the battery pack is installed and I have to release the battery and reinstall once or twice before its ready. there is some room for product refinement like the previous stated issue. However as is its still a great tool as well as a cost savings in ammo usage.

a great training aide with minor flaws

I wanted to love this and give it 5 stars but I found some small flaws that I wish Mantis would address. I should say even with the issues I still recommend this. It works as it should and makes dry fire training with your AR so much better. No more racking after every trigger pull and I can now work my safety in a more natural way.

The issues I had are with the app: when running the Blackbeard with the mantis x app (Mantis X sensor required) sometimes the hammer fall doesn't set off the "shot" in the app, and sometimes releasing the trigger will.
Also, even though the Blackbeard has a built in laser you cant use it with their laser academy app unless you pay to unlock all the features.
I also wish they would combine their Mantis X and Mantis Laser Academy functionality as you can't run both simultaneously unless you use two devices.

I will continue to use it, but for the price I really wished they'd fix these flaws and possibly include laser academy training with the Blackbeard.

Love my Mantis

Absolutely love my Mantis Blackbeard! Purchased from PA and was delivered to my door step with in 24hrs. Only issue I have now is figuring out how to get a poster size version on the Jack Russel terrier sticker.

Does what it's supposed to do.

I've used it a few times since I bought it, it's fairly convenient, good for developing trigger discipline, but I've noticed that the laser does not hold a tight zero. I don't think that the laser itself is the problem, it seems like the tiny little bit of slop of the adapter in the chamber shifts the zero. If you're shooting for precision, you're probably not going to get it, but if you're shooting to practice transitions on electronic gong targets at 15'-50' it works really well.
