Low-Powered variable optics are taking over the AR-15 world whether it be for 3-gun competition, heavy duty combat use, hunting, or a “bug-out” type rifle setup. They have become extremely popular because at 1x magnification, they act like a red dot and can quickly be turned up to higher magnifications for longer range precision shots or identification purposes. Enter the Nightforce Optics NX8 1-8x24 F1 rifle scope designed to be a contender to the Vortex Razor HD 1-6x and is even being looked at by the United States SOCOM. The NX8 is extremely compact at only 8.75” in length and weighs in at 17 ounces while still maintaining the durability, clarity, and performance that Nightforce is known for. The 30mm aluminum tube houses some of the clearest and high-resolution glass on the market that is fully multicoated to prevent glare and sealed from nature to prevent leaks or fogging of the glass. It also has a proprietary bonding agent to ensure no glass on metal contact and to ensure the glass won't break under heavy recoil or impact. Designed for rugged outdoor use in extreme cold or hot temperatures, this scope will make a great match for your competition, hunting, duty rifle or carbine.
Features:
The NX8 comes in two different reticle styles. The reticle on this model is the FC-Mil, which is optimized for variable magnification FFP scopes, with .5 and 1 Mil-Radian elevation and windage markings that remain constant at every magnification setting for easy hold over points at longer distances. Because it is a first focal plane scope, the reticle changes in size depending on the magnification setting and at 1x it closely resembles a red dot for fast target acquisition while getting larger at 8x for precise aiming. The circle with center red dot reticle has 10 different illumination levels with “off” option between each setting and is one of the most visible sighting systems in broad daylight so it is ready to be used in any lighting condition.
Another main feature of this magnified optic is the ZeroStop elevation adjustment that allows you to dial up for long distance shots and then quickly crank the elevation back down to your original zero so you can transition smoothly between differently ranged targets during competition or in the field. Elevation and windage click adjustments are a true .2 Mil-Radian and are built into heavy-duty exposed turrets. A built-in power throw lever is included with this package that allows you to quickly adjust the magnification setting depending on the situation.
Nightforce Optics offer exceptional products, each built with painstaking craftsmanship and a fanatical attention to detail. Their scopes are designed with military and civilian use in mind and are built to withstand the harshest environments so no matter who is behind the scope, it will function in their time of need. Nightforce focuses on manufacturing a small amount of scopes so they can meticulously inspect each and every detail of every scope built to ensure high quality.
