It's a great tool to loosen up the build up. I follow it up by using the BONE tool with a patch as well.It definitely made things easier.

Most useful piece of my cleaning kit

To start off, I'll list *all* of the features/uses for this tool:- Clean the firing pin- Clean the BCG bolt recess- Clean the bolt- Threaded hole for use as a T-handle when attaching cleaning rods/accessoriesGot some seriously caked on carbon fouling in the hardest areas to clean? This guy handles it no problem. The most time this guy will save you is in cleaning the bolt and firing pin (curved surface, a nightmare to clean by hand) and in cleaning the BCG bolt recess (a hole, how in the hell else you going to clean it?). The threaded hole for attaching other cleaning accessories is awesome as well; most of the cheap handles will rotate, making it so you can't apply pressure with it. When counting all the uses this tool has and the price it's placed at this thing can just not be beat. I really need to pick up a second one to keep in my range bag and as a backup. Buy this, you will not be disappointed.

Works on getting big carbon off, to get it perfect still need a little rubbing with scotch brite pad. Worth the money though...

If You Aren't Using This........

You aren't doing a good job cleaning. I went for a century without one because I didn't know what a lousy job I was doing but I do know now and this is an essential part of my toolkit.

Buy one.
