This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 3-18x50mm first focal plane illuminated rifle scope punches far outside of its weight class. At 3x magnification, fast snap shots at close range are a breeze with the daylight bright illuminated reticle, but the scope easily allows shooters to reach the 1,000 yard line when cranked up to the full 18x available at the top end. To make the best of the reticle at every magnification, it has been etched into the first focal plane. This allows it to be 'true' at every magnification, allowing the ranging, hold overs, and wind holds to be used as long as you can see them.

Features:

  • First Focal Plane reticle is true at every magnification
  • Full reticle illumination is daylight bright
  • ACSS APOLLO 6.5 CM Reticle provides ranging, bullet drop, and wind holds out to 1,000 yards in up to 20mph cross winds
  • Chevron central aiming point provides infinitely small aiming point
  • The replaceable power ring fin can be positioned to user preference
  • Locking, Zero resettable turrets
  • 30mm main tube
  • Weight: 25.4 oz. with battery, without lens covers
  • Water proof, fog resistant, shock resistant
  • Lifetime warranty

The 3-18x50mm is equipped with the ACSS APOLLO 6.5CM reticle, simply the ultimate option for 6.5 Creedmoor shooters available. Simply sight in at 100 yards and you are ready to engage at any range out to 1,000 yards with crosswinds up to 20 mph, all without requiring any math or touching a single turret. Combine the built-in range estimation and hold overs with an infinitely precise chevron tip aiming point and .2 MIL crosshair subtensions, and you have a firing solution at any distance.

The 3-18x50mm scope body is our most advanced to date, offering new innovative features, as well as old favorites. A removable and replaceable fin on the power ring allows for rapid adjustment of the magnification range just like a magnification lever, with placement of the fin entirely at the discretion of the operator. The improved turrets have tactile and audible 0.1 MIL click adjustments, as well as offering easy reset once you've got your zero and secure locking to prevent accidental adjustments. The illumination turret offers six settings with an 'OFF' setting between each for fast switching to your preferred setting. A smooth parallax adjustment and fast focus eye piece work together to provide a perfectly crisp image of the target and reticle.

Featuring clear glass, forgiving eye relief/exit pupil characteristics, and efficient industrial design, the 3-18x50 FFP Scope with ACSS APOLLO 6.5CM reticle is backed up by the Primary Arms Lifetime Warranty.

Made the leap to use with 224 Valkyrie

by

I bought this after having great results with an ACSS ACOG & a 5.56 and wanted an ACSS with my 224 Valkyrie AR15. I swapped out a Vortex PST 6-24.The PA is more compact (2.5”) but the same weight. The turrets have solid clicks, I like being able to lock them down, and they’re easy to reset once the optic is zeroed using a quarter. The brightness knob is a tad stiff and I wish it had two more settings to help contrast with a black target in full sun but otherwise it was sufficient. The Apollo ACSS is primarily designed for slower 88gr ELD/90gr SMK Valkyrie rounds (2650-2750fps) but my 80gr ELD handloads are roughly 2960fps. The ACSS reticle when zeroed at 100yds is dead on at the 2nd dot for 200yds and the 300yd hold, but due to the speed and lack of drop, I have to subtract 50yds beyond that. Shooting 500yds, I hold at 450yds, shooting 400yds, I hold at 350yds. Like the instructions say, it’s easy to compensate for 25yd variations by estimating the distance between the hash marks.

5 Stars ... BUT ... with a VERY important footnote !!!

LOVE the scope. Tracks great, super accurate reticle for my .224 Valkyrie. Had a huge problem that "almost" caused me to return it. After mounting to an American Defense Manufacturing QD Cantilever mount, took it out to shoot and realized the Parallax ring was super hard to move, and didn't focus correctly beyond 100 yards. Thought I got a bad scope, and requested a RMA. Before shipping, I stumbled across a YouTube video discussing this "Binding Parallax" problem. Bottom line ... irrespective of your mounting specs, torquing the scope rings past 18 in/lbs will cause this problem. ADM specs 20-25 in/lbs. I remounted with Vortex rings that specified 15-18 in/lbs and tightened to 15 ... VOILA ... problem solved. If you buy this scope, make sure you think about this problem when you select and implement a mount. Other than that totally undocumented and annoying problem, and with that little mystery solved, the scope is shooting "lights out" to 500 yards (further soon).

My favorite scope, period.

This is the perfect scope. Everything on it is everything I've ever wanted in a scope. 6.5 Creedmoor BDC which makes hitting lots of targets at different distances very easy.

I absolutely love this scope. I made a review on it too on my YouTube channel Minute Man Prep.

A Scope & Reticle Ahead of It's TIME--so Buy It

by

Awesome Scope...Way ahead of its time with this ACSS Reticle Dimitri developed. And it works for 2 different calibers...Its just Amazing. From 100 yards to 1000 yards with Hornady Ammo, its dead on. Ringing the Steel at will, like Church Bells.. And without dialing anything up,down or left or right.

Save your money for ammo, buy this superb scope!

I laugh every time I go to the range and hear someone talk about their $5000 Swarovski scope. Or the typical, "I spent more on my scope than I did the rifle" remark. Well, I spent close to nothing on my scope with the ACSS Apollo reticle and I damn well guarantee you that your scope is not more accurate than mine. I've been buying from Primary Arms since the beginning. I've watched their scopes get better and better over the years. With this 3-18x50 Slx ACSS Apollo, I doubt I will ever again buy a different brand of scope for a precision platform. The reticle is absolutely EXCELLENT! The glass is clear and the build is rugged. The turrets are easy to use and lock back down. Absolute game changer! Save your money for ammo, buy this scope. You will be more than satisfied.

Great scope for the money!!

The wait was worth it just like several reviewers suggested. Bolted it to a Howa 6.5 bull barreled action on a Boyd’s pro varmint stock. Zeroed at 100. Sat in a blind and hit steel at 650 yards dead center right off. I’m impressed. Added a Timney trigger now (2 lb pull) and can’t wait to try it a little further out. CAN NOT BEAT IT FOR THE PRICE!

Awesome

I just can’t believe the quality of glass and the overall performance of this scope at this price! I really didn’t expect this level of quality for $509 delivered to my door. I’ll never go back to those more expensive scope brands and I can’t wait to get my hands on the Top Of The Line PA Glass if the “low end” models are this good! Spending my money right here at home in Texas is just all the more reason to buy at PA!

Do Yourself A Favor

Just received my SLX ACSS-Apollo 6.5CR/224V scope. It's going on a custom bolt action rifle chambered in 6mm ARC. I think it will work great with this caliber also. I have yet to shoot with it but initial impressions are that this thing is a pretty high quality optic regardless of price point. The glass is sharp and very clear. The reticle looks great. The lines are not too big or too small. The turrets feel solid and are audible. I'll update my review when I finally get a chance to shoot with it.

Great Scope for My Precision Valkyrie Upper.

This is my second scope with the ACSS reticle and I really believe it helps my accuracy. Using the chevron as described in the manuals definitely pinpoint the point of impact. The price is great for all the features provided.

Best scope I have ever owned
