Bloodline of a dog is so important.
pleasantly surprised

The barrel is from a known good manufacture, dimpled, with a .076 gas port. The gas block screws were tight with Loctite used. The flash hider is timed correctly. Gas tube has a more noticeable taper at the gas key end than that other company your thinking of (That helps guide the tube into the gas key). The handguard weighs 10.5 oz. with an ID of 1.37" and has anti-rotation tabs with Loctite on the clamping screws and no QD mounts.
The barrel nut is an underwhelming 1.4" long with 1 1/4 wrench tabs. The upper receiver has white T slot markings. Cardinal forge markings. The ejection port and forward assist are correct. Doesn't look like it was test fired once assembled. Overall, Its great value with some premium touches. My only gripe is with such a long rail, the barrel nut should be longer (Other companies are using 2" long nuts).
Very nice setup, better then expected

The Upper - Nice! Cardinal Forged upper with excellent machining done, inside looks better then most and has no visible machining marks. Feedramps are free of any snags and line up with the barrel extension

The Barrel - Nice! Rosco 5.56 4150 CMV Barrel

The gas block - good - Low profile, 3/32 screws, 1 had red Loctite on it, other was somewhat loose and had none, barrel is dimpled for the screw that had the Loctite on it

Gas tube looks to be stainless steel

Handguard is very light, and fits tight against the barrel nut even with the screws removed. Looks like the screws had locktite on them like most factory screws

Only thing that would make it perfect is if the handguard rail was in perfect alignment with the upper rail, it's sitting lower, but that's easy to overcome with BUIS by raising the sight a few turns. Won't impact dots or scopes

Flash hider is on there, tight, and aligned, nothing special but will work fine
For the 22LR . Lapped and shimmed this upper getting ready to shoot . Happy with the purchase when it arrived .
Awesome

Very surprised when opening the box, there was a new BCG sitting there and I didn't order one so I guess that was a bonus. I inspected the upper by taking the handguard off and making sure everything was tight.
The barrel is perfectly machined and to my surprise was made by a well known manufacturer. the upper receiver was flawless and machined well.
i now wish i would have bought more because of quality and price.
I will buy this upper for future builds and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Seen this upper an had my eye on a few other s but figured I'd give this one a shot. So far it went together very nice seats well with my billet lower , so over all I'm happy with it. Now just need to find time to shoot it . But I would buy another that's why I gave 4 star because I havent shot it yet
Quality upper
by Andrew
I got really lucky when I bought this back in September, I found it on some special sale for $189. I have put maybe 150-200 down the pipe, has ran like a champ. In the beginning it had some issues but I think I had to heavy of a buffer, changed the buffer and it's ran 100 rounds fine.
fit and finish of a $600+ upper - except no quick disconnect points.

I am approaching a dozen AR platform rifles now. Split between low/mid/high end. This upper was meant for another low-end build but it's just too good for that. It's what would be found on a $800-$1,000 rifle so now I have to build a comparable lower to match. Seriously.

I just wish it had at least one set of built in quick disconnect points. Preferably two.
