Nice for the money.

The SLX 1-8x24 SFP is a nice LPVO. It has drawbacks like many LPVO’s in its price range but they are easy to over come with use, at least for me they were. The eye box at 8x is tight but with the proper cheek weld it’s not difficult. It has the fishbowl effect at close range but it’s a lot less noticeable at regular distances. I think the brightness is excellent. I love the acss bdc it’s really nice and accurate on my Ruger sfar chambered in 308/7.62x51firing M80 and 168gr loads when sighted in 1” high at 100yds. It was easy to zero and the adjustment are true half inch clicks. It’s already been bumped and banged and rained on with no problems. I imagine it will last a long time and recommend it for budget minded folks.
Box Stacking Government- very happy

I’m legally blind with astigmatism having thick glasses, with my hunting space being a heavily wooded area with trail 50- 200 yrds I was looking for a illuminated scope for my 45-70 that wouldn’t break my bank- zeroed in at 50 within 20 minutes and was stacking my placement almost on the same place- only gripe is I wish it was 1/4 instead of 1/2 but with 45-70 it doesn’t matter all thet much honestly and that the 8x is basically unusable due to the thickness of my glasses it’s really fuzzy and hard to make out but that’s a my issue and not the products (curses on not being able to see). Overall it’s a great scope I shot 40 high powered hunting loads over the course of 90 minutes back to back and it held zero no shifts at all. 10/10 would recommend & buy again.
Very Bright Image at 8x

Put this on my New SFAR and did a quick zero, and then got down to testing how the scope would work at longer distances.
Lighting is nice and at 1 and 2 is only visible in near darkness while higher settings jump out at you, The stadia lines work well and at 8x this scope is noticeably brighter than than my 1x6 Romeo on my AR at 6x. I am happy I went with the SLX 1-8.
Awesome

I purchased 2 of these, 1 for my Spike Tactical 556 the other for my Aero M5 308 (not tested). Took the 556 out to sight in, it was not easy, it appeared to be set for 300 yards not 100, I had to bore sight it to get it on paper, once there I was able to dial it in, still 10" high and 1" left, should not be hard to finish the dial in. Glass is very clear, reticle illumination was very good, turrets not loose yet not hard to turn. The mount which I got for free, I had my buddy test the alignment and was spot on.
1X more like 1.2X - 1.3X / Ranging features not illuminated
by R.C.
The scope I received was not a true 1X. I'd estimate it closer to a 1.2X - 1.3X. One can expect a slight change at 1X when adjusting the diopter to focus the reticle, however this was way more than expected / acceptable. Returning to exchange. Hopefully this was an isolated issue. Customer service has been very good so far. Btw - Glass clarity @ 8X was good for an optic at this price point.
Just a heads-up. The 1-8X model does not fully illuminate the entire reticle. Only the middle horseshoe is illuminated; the ranging features are not. Supposedly the 1-6X model will illuminate everything.
