Primary Arms AutoLive® Battery Cap

Happy to have this, cost is a lot of batteries, but I have a bad habit of forgetting….don’t mind the battery going dead at the range, but otherwise that’s not a great option.

This does work on certain scope models as advertised. It did work great on at least 2 different scopes. Great product and works very well with automatic shutoff.

Bought one of these caps to go with the Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24 FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS Raptor Reticle - 5.56 / .308 scope I was buying. Works like a champ, I'll be interested to see what the battery life is like now! =)

For those of you concerned with compatibility with other scopes - I can confirm it does NOT work with a Trijicon Accupower or SWFA SS 1-4x24 scopes. Both brands have a shallower battery compartment so the threads won't come close to engaging (the inside contact int he cap makes contact on the "+" side of the battery well before the male to female threads start to engage). Additionally, the Trijicon cap diameter is smaller than the PA cap.

It just works well!

However, I find limited use for it.
I leave it off when storing or transporting it as most LPVOs have limited battery life and the illuminated dot would constantly be on due to movement.

The two best uses are:
1-On a gun that sits at the ready in a home or business.
2-On a gun that the reticle is unintentionally left on during storage. It will turn the reticle off, save the battery, and be ready for use should it be needed.

For what it is and what it does, I did find the price a bit high. A much more attractive price would be about half of the purchase price.
Again, works well and as advertised!!!

Works great on my 1-6x acss 300bo/7.62x39. I kept leaving it on and draining the battery, not a problem anymore!

It works as intended, and works flawlessly. 10/10 I recommend. I only wish this was a standard feature for all PA optics.

Primary Arms wins the Nobel Prize for this gadget. Easy to install and rounds out my build as a great home-defense rifle. Outtasight!

Installed this on a P.A. SLX 1-8 FFP. Extremely simple to install. I really like having the auto live feature on my LVPO now. No longer have to worry about turning the optic on or off. Fit and finish match perfectly with the scope body. Highly recommend this simple yet effective upgrade.

Prism sights and tubular reddots that use 2032 batteries and didn’t have auto on don’t work with autolive. Works fine with lpvo and scopes which for me is limited value. If I’m hunting, it’s gonna get constantly bumped and I inspect my rifle before and after dragging it through the woods including turning on and off the light. I wanted something by the bed that had a (no power) prism optic that would come on as soon as I grabbed it. Not what Ithought it would be. 3 stars for innovation

This little cap solved a real life issue for me of grabbing a rifle with a dead battery in the scope. Fit both my 1-6 and 1-8 PA lpvos and my SLx 2.5 Compact 2.5x32 Prism Scope. Simple but incredibly important piece of gear/tech for rifles that don’t already have Autolive technology.
