This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 4-16x44mm first focal plane illuminated rifle scope combines one of the most popular magnification ranges for hunting with the features and innovations you'd expect from Primary Arms. At 4x magnification, the wide field of view and daylight bright reticle make tracking a moving target a breeze, while the top end's 16x magnification allows for unerring precision. The reticle is etched into the first focal plane. This means it is 'true' at every magnification, ensuring the ranging, holdovers, and wind holds can be used as long as you can see them.

Features:

  • First Focal Plane reticle is true at every magnification
  • Partial reticle illumination of the horseshoe and chevron is daylight bright
  • ACSS HUD DMR 308 Reticle provides moving target holds out to 600 yards, as well as ranging, bullet drop, and wind holds out to 1,000 yards
  • Zero resettable turret caps
  • Calibrated for .308 Winchester
  • Compatible with some .223 Rem loads
  • Chevron central aiming point provides an infinitely small aiming point
  • Replaceable power ring fin can be positioned to user preference
  • 30mm main tube
  • Weight: 25.4 Oz. with battery, without lens covers
  • Waterproof, fog resistant, shock resistant
  • Scope caps included
  • Lifetime warranty

The 4-16x44mm is equipped with the ACSS HUD DMR 308 reticle, the most advanced moving target reticle in the world. Capable of guiding the shooter to first shot hits on moving targets out to a never before seen 600 yards, HUD DMR even accounts for three different target speeds. You can't hit any target if you don't know how far out they are, so HUD DMR takes the guesswork out of range estimation. The integrated ranging system quickly and accurately provides target ranging, wind holds, and bullet drop compensation out to a full 1,000 yards. Tuned for common .308 Winchester loads, this reticle can be used with some .223 Remington loadings as well.

The 4-16x44mm scope body is the most advanced to date, offering new innovative features, as well as old favorites. A removable and replaceable fin on the power ring allows for rapid adjustment of the magnification range just like a magnification lever, with the fin's placement entirely at the operator's discretion. The improved turrets have tactile and audible 0.1 MIL click adjustments. The illumination turret offers eleven settings. A smooth parallax adjustment and fast focus eyepiece work together to provide a perfectly crisp image of the target and reticle.

Featuring clear glass, forgiving eye relief/exit pupil characteristics, and efficient industrial design, the 4-16x44 FFP Scope with ACSS HUD DMR reticle is backed up by the Primary Arms Lifetime Warranty.

My First LPVO

by -

This is my first "serious" optic, Never used a LPVO before. It was super easy to dial in, by the end of the first mag at 200 yards it was consistent. Manual did a good job explaining how to use the reticle for windage and distance. Build quality feels solid and the glass is super clear.
I look forward to using it more and seeing what its capable of.

SLX 4-16 X 44

This is a great scope for such a small price I will definitely be buying another one soon

NOT AS ADVERTISED

by -

Bought this scope for a 308 DMR as it is said to be.
Although the reticle may be .308 DMR, the scope is NOT.
The offer for the scope specifically stated ZERO RESETTABLE TURRETS and the video states ZERO RESET SYSTEM.
There is NO info in the manual for zero reset.
After visiting the store, asking the question as to how to reset, and sending an email, I am told it has NO ZERO RESET.
AS OF TODAY ALMOST 3 MONTHS LATER, VIDEO STILL SAYS ZERO RESET.
I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS SCOPE HAD I KNOWN THERE WAS NO ZERO RESET.
PRIMARY ARMS HAS OFFERED NOTHING FOR THEIR ERROR.
VERY disappointed with Primary Arms.

We are happy that we could help you on this optic and it's features. The descriptions have been updated.

Zero Reset

by

Not sure what the one reviewer was complaining about with the "zero reset". But the turrets (like most scopes), have set screws that you back out allowing the turret to be move or "reset" to zero after you have zeroed the weapon, then you tighten down the set screws again. So if you ever do move the turrets (intentionally or by accident), you can move or "reset your turrets to "Zero". There, problem solved

Amazing for the price!

by

Popped this on my .308 along with a PA mount and it works like a champ. You ARE able to loosen the set screws (three per knob) and set knobs to zero, however the manual doesn't point this out. Its a little bit of an effort and you have to use the Allen wrench, but not hard. Don't back screws out all the way, just go flush with the knob edge. Whatever position you do have them in, they are not locking type so if you bumped a knob accidently in use, then it could shift from your settings. When you remember how you didn't pay over $1000 for a FFP scope, you immediately stop knit picking about these little things. The reticle requires you to read the manual, but once you figure it out, it is well thought out and I now love it much more than mil dot. The dual color illumination is great. If it was more expensive I would give it 4 stars as its not a GOAT, but at this price it gets all 5.

Great scope for the price!

I've added this to my .308 and it does not disappoint. Clear glass and easy operation. Sighted in at 100 yards with no issues. Illumination is great, as always, and reticle is clear and crisp when focused properly. Paired with Midwest QD mount on Aero M5 upper and works very well. Will probably add another to anew build coming soon. Thanks PA for another great optic at a great price.

Very good option for the price

by

Using on an 18” ar10 I am able to make accurate hits on a man sized target out to 500 yards, only gripe I have is that there isn’t a extended throw lever made for the scope

Great Scope for the Price, but Reticle is Inaccurate at Longer Ranges.

by -

Amazing price, clear glass, and nice magnification. When zeroed with M80 ball to the manual's specifications, the impact correlated well to the reticle out to 500 yards. However, was significantly low at 1000 yards. The point of impact was far below the 1000 yard hold.

Incredible Optic for the money.

by

My Son gave me this PA SLX 4×16×44 with the ACSS HUD DMR Reticle for my birthday. I really didn't think much about it because I use optics usually over the $1000.0 range. I put together a 24 inch Heavy barrel 223 and thought I would put it on until I could get a new Night Force. I was shocked at the Quality of the glass and the ease of using the reticle for hold over. I like the reticle so much that I have ordered another for my Daughter s AR. I have also ordered the PLX 6×30×56 with the ACSS Apollo for a 260AI that I just finished building. These are great Optics for the money and the tracking is true as the turret is easy to read if you daily a lot like I do. I hope this helps you if you're on the fence about buying Primary Arms Optics.
