The heart of the tough Gen II 5X Prism Scope is the ACSS Aurora reticle - the very first foray into meter-based ranging and fire solutions. The feature-rich and intuitive reticle design is uncluttered, designed to communicate vital information in an efficient manner to not only increase first-hit probability but drastically reduce the time necessary to reach a firing solution to get that hit. From 300m and in, the illuminated chevron aiming point provides wicked-quick snap shooting capability and both-eyes open engagement, so you never lose peripheral vision. The outer tips of the chevron pull double duty as leads for targets moving 3.1 mph perpendicular to the shooter. For targets moving a bit faster, the two lead dots on either side of the chevron are leads for a target hustling along at 8.6 mph. Aurora even compensates for mounted targets up to 40mph!

For engagements 400m and out, the integrated bullet drop compensation and wind leads come into play. The tried and true ACSS auto-ranging system allows for near-instant range estimation, which enables rapid transition to the BDC system that offers holdovers in 50m increments out to an impressive 800 meters. The real world often involves wind, and ACSS Aurora provides full value 5 and 10mph wind holds. Is the wind a little stronger or softer, maybe coming at an angle? Use the holds as a reference point and adjust accordingly. For operators in the field, no other reticle provides the combined capabilities and intuitive use of the ACSS Aurora.

The SLx 5X Gen III has even greater strength and flexibility than ever before with the next generation ruggedized mounting system. We’ve upgraded everything about the mount from materials and finish to the design to create a mount that will not just clamp securely to your rail, but stand up the rigors of real-world use. Integrated recoil lugs help lock your mount in place against the heaviest recoil while large diameter crossbolts give you significantly improved clamping power and will hold up to significant torque. The included riser is the perfect height for AR-15s and AR-10s, but can be easily removed for carry handle or AK use as well.

Primary Arms 5x Prism with ACSS Aurora Reticle

by -

This is the best optic I have used on any AR15. It took less than 8 shots to get it zero'd and it is an amazing optic! The reticle works so well! Dimitri is a genius!!! It is the 4th Primary Arms optic with acss reticle I have purchased and I couldnt be happier with them all!

Amazing

by

Worth every penny. Easy to install (even onto a carrying handle) and a breeze to zero in

Top notch prism scope

by -

I had been looking at this prism scope for a year and a half. Bought it last month on sale. Mounted it and took it to the range for zeroing. Extremely impressed with the clarity of the glass lenses and chevron reticle. Very easy scope to master. Very well built and solid. After zeroing, I had a dime shot grouping at 300 meters. Highly recommend this scope to anyone who likes prism scopes.

The 5x prism scope with the acss aurora reticle is the best. The scope is bright & clear & the reticle is just right size.

Great Optic!

I was finally able to get out to a friend's farm and get it sighted in. Easy to site in and accurate out to 600 (thats all the room we had). We were also fortunate to have an almost constant 5 mph 90 degree wind and the holdovers worked perfectly. This is my 2nd PA optic and both have been phenomenal!

Best performance for your dollar.

PROS: By far, this optic has the best medium range reticle on the market. Period. It’s ranging, BDC, and windholds are right on the money.

The included mount is compact and rock solid. Unlike an ACOG, this optic’s mount allows enough room to mount an offset red dot in front, if you so choose.

CONS: The red/green illumination option feels like a gimmick but works fine nonetheless. The eye relief/eye box is a decent improvement over a 4x ACOG, but is still a little finicky. You’ll want to mount this as rearward as possible.

My only wish for future models is to have a standard RMR plate on top of the optic rather than a MIL-STD-1913 rail. That way you could mount a trijicon, holosun, or other RMR footprint reflex sights a tad bit lower (like 0.2 inches) than where it currently sits.

Overall, this has become my favorite and go to optic when paired with a Trijicon SRO. Primary Arms always seems to be years ahead of the competition, and this optic does not disappoint.

Outstanding value.

This is one of the best purchases for gun related items I have ever bought. Great packaging, build quality, value. Great warranty. Very clear glass. Rock solid build. If I were being overly picky etching is a little small, but truthfully probably because of old eyes more than optic. Would highly recommend and purchased any primary optics if they are even close to this.

Awesome

Solid, clear and great for multiple purpose shooting.

If you like the acog, this is a go to

by -

Used an acog in the USMC for 8 years, this is as close as your gonna get without spending 1300. It’s phenomenal, clear glass and crisp reticle

Fantastic scope, needed after market mount to get it positioned properly

by -

Was a breeze to mount and zero. Reticle isnt what some consider 'daylight bright' but more than enough to color and illuminate the chevron against snow with plenty of sunshine. The rest of the reticle is easy to use getting out at distance. Glass clarity is absolutely wonderful. Got an american defense manufacturing cantilever mount to put the optic higher and farther back and that did wonders to make the gun a dream to shoot. Overall a very smart budget option to an acog.
