After rigorous field testing, this optic has been given a Silver-tier rating by the National Tactical Officers Association.

This Primary Arms red dot sight is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics built their reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The humble microdot is a hard-to-beat package when you want speed without adding a lot of weight to your firearm. The venerable 30mm red dot is a great option for shooters who prefer to have speed AND a wide field of view through their optic. The SLx MD-25 is here to offer the perfect balance between the two with a compact design that weighs barely 2 ounces more than a standard microdot, yet offers the same field of view as a 30mm red dot! Add in super bright, daytime illumination, an up to 50,000-hour battery life, and the next generation ruggedized micro mount and you'll see how we're pushing the envelope for fast, lightweight optics!

Features:

  • Wide field of view
  • Compact, lightweight, and durable
  • Crisp 2 MOA red dot
  • Up to 50,000 hour battery life (5+ years) at medium setting
  • Uses one CR2032 battery (included)
  • Next generation ruggedized mounting system
  • Includes risers and spacers for mounting to 0.96”, 1.41”, 1.54”, or 1.64” central height

  • 12 Illumination settings for bright days and night vision compatible
  • Just 3" long and 6.5 Oz.
  • Fog resistant

The SLx 25mm Red Dot been equipped with the next generation ruggedized mounting system. We’ve upgraded everything about the mount from materials and finish to the design to create a mount that will not just clamp securely to your rail, but stand up the rigors of real-world use. Integrated recoil lugs help lock your mount in place against the heaviest recoil while large diameter crossbolts give you significantly improved clamping power and will hold up to significant torque. The included riser is the perfect height for AR-15s and AR-10s, but can be easily removed to for installation on AKs, shotguns, and more.

The SLx 25mm red dot includes the low base, a standard riser, and two different height spacers, as well as appropriate mounting hardware. With just the low base, a central height of 0.96” can be achieved. Add the standard riser for 1.41”. With the riser and thin spacer, your central height will be 1.54”. Using the thick spacer will place the optic at 1.64” height. With these options you can easily configure your optic to perfectly match your firearm and shooting style.

Immaculate

by

I've quickly become a huge fan of PA. I originally bought an MRO to upgrade from a cheaper optic as I like nice things. I was very disappointed with the fit & finish on the MRO and the claims of parallax error. I decided to sell it and get this for over $200 less. Received it today and the fit & finish are vastly superior. Beautiful glass, perfect machining and a clear FOV without a visible emitter (unlike the MRO). Not to mention it feels way more solid. Time will tell but if it's anything like my other PA optics, this thing is rugged and the value is stellar. I'm a customer for life.

Great on AK Platform

This a such a nice little optic. It's absolutely uncontested in its price range. I have it mounted on an Arsenal SAM7 with an SLR Rifleworks gas tube (similar to Ultimak). I haven't been to war with it, but it's handled mag dumps at the range during the Summer just fine. It's been great in freezing temps, too. It never stops working or loses zero. At this price, I took a gamble hoping it would handle the heat and it paid it off big. This thing is awesome.

Great for day use, good enough for night.

Pros: clear dot, lots of mounting options, great field of view, glass is good and night vision settings are good enough for passive aiming. Better than aimpoint pro or other vortex dot I have.

Critiques are small, I would suggest one slightly brighter night vision setting, and longer screws so you can stack more risers to get a taller mount. Neither are of any consequence if you don’t use night vision.

Very nice

I love everything about this optic, just find it odd it does not come with any lens covers at all or even have an option to add some.

Issue

by

I own this its an amazing optic (not one issue with power or electrical)....but I gotta ask why is the front lense offset or angled it's like that on everyone I've seen

Good value

What's good? Price is nice. Larger FOV is nice for picking up dot/reticle quickly. I like the simplicity but YMMV. Seems HD/LE durable. Illumination is bright enough for any situation. Mount is decent. Glass clarity better than MRO. What could use improvement? The glass coatings. Being backlit by sunlight and aiming into a darker area produces significant red glare. Every RDS can be blinded in the right/wrong light conditions, some are more susceptible to it than others. The housing and knobs are thick. So it doesn't "ghost" as well as some optics, but isn't horrible in actual use. Final verdict? Seems like a decent budget RDS. Fits aftermarket aimpoint micro mounts. Be aware that the height isn't the same. I've got it on a Larue absolute co-witness mount and the dot sits somewhere between lower 1/3 and absolute. Not an issue unless you're trying to line it up with a magnifier.

Excellent optic

This is a solid piece of equipment. The quality was even better than I expected, the options for installation are plentiful [multiple riser options included for cowitness], and the t-handle tool is an excellent inclusion to get a solid mount to the rail.

I was amazed at the accuracy at 50 yards with zero adjustments. I bought two of these to start. I liked them so much, I just bought another one.

The one shortcoming is that this does not include dust caps for the lens; they have to be ordered separately.

SLX MD-2

by

I bought this sight for a Galil ace pistol - and the SLX MD-2 is a great fit. Thought about an MRO but decided on this instead. I do not regret the decision. Only have a 3-400 rounds through it so far but it’s awesome. Field of view is great, brightness is enough for the desert sun. Zeroing took about 15 mins. Mounts are solid - used the low mount on Galil and the tall mount with another optic on an AR because they are quality and a standard footprint. Clear glass. Well done PA. I’m trying to decide between the prism or ACSS for my next optic.

SLX 25mm - great optic

by -

Optic is great and robust, attached to my Galil Ace pistol gen 2. Low mount is perfect for AK height sights and this paired red dot with backup low Troy iron sights on the Ace is a great combo. I don’t usually like the anti-reflection add on - but with the larger field of view it works well and does not obscure target or dot. Bright enough to shoot under the NV desert sun. I think PA is changing the game on quality affordable products.

APEX optic!

It's better than expected and perched on a 16" BCA upper in 300 Blackout. This one will be raining copper from a chopper next March.
