“2021 Industry Choice Awards Red Dot Optic of the Year”

After rigorous field testing, this optic has been given a Silver-tier rating by the National Tactical Officers Association.

This Primary Arms red dot sight is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics built their reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The humble microdot is a hard-to-beat package when you want speed without adding a lot of weight to your firearm. The venerable 30mm red dot is a great option for shooters who prefer to have speed and a wide field of view through their optic. The SLx MD-25 is here to offer the perfect balance between the two with a compact design that weighs barely 2 ounces more than a standard microdot, yet offers the same field of view as a 30mm red dot! Add in super bright, daytime illumination, an up to 12,000-hour battery life, and the next generation ruggedized micro mount and you'll see how we're pushing the envelope for fast, lightweight optics!

Features:

  • Wide field of view
  • Compact, lightweight, and durable
  • ACSS-CQB Circle/Chevron reticle
  • Up to 12,000 hour battery life at medium setting
  • Uses one CR2032 battery (included)
  • Next generation ruggedized mounting system

  • 12 Illumination settings for bright days and night vision compatible
  • Just 3" long and 6.5 Oz.
  • Fog resistant

The SLx 25mm Red Dot been equipped with the next generation ruggedized mounting system. We’ve upgraded everything about the mount from materials and finish to the design to create a mount that will not just clamp securely to your rail, but stand up the rigors of real-world use. Integrated recoil lugs help lock your mount in place against the heaviest recoil while large diameter crossbolts give you significantly improved clamping power and will hold up to significant torque. The included riser is the perfect height for AR-15s and AR-10s, but can be easily removed to for installation on AKs, shotguns, and more.

The SLx 25mm red dot includes the low base, a standard riser, and two different height spacers, as well as appropriate mounting hardware. With just the low base, a central height of 0.96” can be achieved. Add the standard riser for 1.41”. With the riser and thin spacer, your central height will be 1.54”. Using the thick spacer will place the optic at 1.64” height. With these options you can easily configure your optic to perfectly match your firearm and shooting style.

The ACSS CQB reticle features three BDC dots underneath the chevron, allowing an unprecedented 600 yards of bullet drop compensation for 7.62 NATO or 5.56 NATO calibers in a compact red dot sight. Auto ranging and wind leads are also incorporated into this smart reticle. A CQB horseshoe grabs the eye instantly for close quarters shooting and also approximates the spread pattern of 00 buckshot at 25 yards.

Great Optic

by -

I bought this optic for my latest build and was as always, pleased with the speed of shipping from Primary Arms. After unboxing, I noticed that the front lens was canted to the right. Then, I looked at the stock photos on the site and you can see zooming in that the stock photos show the same thing. Google helps a ton, and it is a design feature to reduce parallax and not a manufacturing error.

Quality optic

I was actually waiting for the MD-25 2 MOA dot to come back in stock when I seen this come available. For $20 more you get the best reticle out there the ACSS-CQB so it was an easy decision to make and I am glad I did. PA shipped this thing the next day and 3 days after purchase I had it in my hands. It’s a real rugged design, mounts up secure giving me the peace of mind you do not need to baby the optic. I really like the ACSS reticle and have used the bullet drop at CQB distances for hold overs on precision shots. Provides quick no thinking POA for 15yrds and in. The illumination is insanely bright for the sunny Texas days. The only con I can even think of it the knob being on the left and blocks field of view but I understand why they placed it on the left and when shooting with both eyes open you eventually get used to it with training.

Nice optic

Very please with the quality of this optic wasn't sure how nice it could be but already wish I bought 2 just to have an extra around

Great little "red dot"!

by -

Primary Arms comes through again. A nice little red dot that doesn't break the bank and is loaded with features. Very clear glass and sharp reticle.
Mounted on .300 BLK and zeroed at 100 yards. Hitting steel with and without 3x magnifier. The new mounts are excellent with all the plates to fit it at any popular height. Very bright reticle too. Couldn't be more pleased.

Just what I was looking for!

by

I've owned a number of Primary Arms optics over the years and they're always improving and this is no exception! I purchased the Holosun red dot with the primary arms acss reticle and was impressed on how crisp the reticle was, I have moderate astigmatism. So when I saw this sight a few days after it was released I didn't hesitate and I was right. The advertised battery life isn't quite a good as the Holosun version but not by much, the only thing I would've liked to see is if you had the option to turn off the 65moa ring but it's not a deal breaker. I'm looking forward to trying out the new 1x prism sight!

So far just a unboxing and initial impressions

by

The optic is sturdy but light, reticle brightness is insane at 11 it looks like you can point that directly into the sun and still get a nice group 🤣

I must have an astigmatism because I only see the reticle clearly with both eyes open, this is something I never tried but now experiencing it I can say from my opinion it is the only way to enviable targets at short range. I feel more in the middle of the action and less isolated. I round the 25mm scope tube seems like it covers a large area more to come from the range soon

should cost twice as much for what it is

This red dot is amazing. TRUE daytime illumination, took it out at high noon on a sweaty july day, and could very clearly see the ACSS reticule not even on the brightest setting. As far as the glass clarity it is crystal clear. I’ve been using this on a Zastava m70 (7.62x39) and it is straight rowdy. My first PA optic, and the ACSS reticule blows a plain dot out of the water. The BDCs are spot on, and primary arms customer support is superb. Had a few questions and reached out to PA’s instagram page only to have Dimitri; the creator of this fine reticule respond to several of my questions. Great shipping, coupled with a lifetime warranty as well. I highly recommend it to anyone I come across and felt obligated to write this review. Just buy it you will not regret it.

Lefties

by -

I am left eye dominant and I have ordered two of these optics. The first one was returned because the chevron was canted to the left. The second one was canted to the left the same as the first. However, because the front glass of the optic is canted, it cants the reticle to the left for left eye dominant people. It's a great optic and it might not bug most people. But, I find it hard to use because the chevron and mil dots aren't vertical or centered in the halo. When I look through the optic with my right eye, it looks normal. But it's canted for left eye dominant people.

Impossible To Use

by -

I want to first start by saying I am a huge fan of PA optics. I have purchased a few scopes in the past and recommended to others. I even waited for this one to come back in stock so I could order. However I hate to say this one was really bad. The ACSS Reticle was incredibly small and near impossible to see. The upward arrow was a complete blur and the drop down dots were so small I could barely see them. This wasn’t just with my eyes. I had a bunch of other guys look through it and everyone had the same opinion. This one got returned a day after it arrived. In my opinion the ACSS Reticle needs to be significantly larger to be at all useful. The pictures and descriptions are very misleading. Love PA overall and return was easy. Buyer beware on this one though.

It was nice to speak to you on the MD-25-ACSS. You may want to look at the Primary Arms SLx 1X MicroPrism, per our conversation, as that has a larger reticle. Please let us know if we may help you with anything.

Another hit by PA

I was initially looking to pick up the 2 MOA dot version of this optic when I seen this version show up on the site and knew I had to have it. The optic itself is extremely rugged and when you pair the ACSS reticle with a magnifier you can’t beat it. Like I mentioned I originally was looking for the 2 MOA version to put on a heavy use rifle, I didn’t want to drop the cash for another eotech or aimpoint but still wanted something that could take a beating so I decided to give this optic a try. After a few months of use I can say I made the right decision. Primary Arms really designed a rugged optic with this one here. This thing has made it through 2 classes, over 3000 rounds, several drops, banging around in the back of my pickup and every time I line up a shot at 100yrds plus it still maintained zero. I would trust my life to this optic.
