After rigorous field testing, this optic has been given a Silver-tier rating by the National Tactical Officers Association.

This Primary Arms rifle scope is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 1-6x24 second focal plane scope (Gen III) features the exclusive, patented Advanced Combined Sighting System reticle. Bullet drop compensation, wind holds, moving target leads and range estimation are seamlessly integrated into an easy to use, instinctive sighting system that is very fast from 0-300 yards and very accurate from 300-800 yards. The second focal plane design keeps the reticle the same size at all magnifications for quick acquisition at low power and advanced reticle functionality at 6x maximum power. This Scope is protected by the Primary Arms Lifetime Warranty. If a defect due to materials or workmanship, or even normal wear and tear, has caused your product to malfunction, Primary Arms will either repair or replace your product.

The flagship Gen II 1-6x24 is a tough act to follow, so Primary Arms worked hard to make incremental but real improvements. The Gen III is 18mm shorter (10.04in long), weighs 1.88 ounces less (16.9 oz. total), and has an additional 10 MOA of internal adjustment compared to the older model. The ACSS® reticle has also been improved, now featuring a chevron center aiming point rather than a dot.

Partial red reticle illumination is provided by a single (included) CR2032 battery, and a spare battery is included inside the windage turret cap. A total of 11 settings take the reticle all the way up to daylight bright. All lenses are fully multicoated for maximum light transmission and the 6063 aluminum body is Type II hard anodized in matte black.

First time reviewer/First time AR user (Ruger AR-556) GREAT SCOPE !!

by -

After seeing a review about this scope on You Tube by 'sootch00', man it seemed a natural choice for my newly purchase Ruger AR-556.
Am new shooter, sport and target only as I do not hunt since Viet Nam but I can't wait to get it on the rifle and use it.
I researched several reviewers on You Tube and every one seemed to have the exact same thing to say - Great scope/excellent quality !!!
That made the deal for me
I would give it a very high recommendation but, I have not yet got to use it.
Especially for someone my age of 70 with less than perfect vision
God Bless

Buy it, you cant go wrong.

Bought this a few weeks back, tried it out today, fantastic results. This is a do it all optic. Up close it works like a red dot.. 100 yards or more it works like a scope. I will be buying more of these for the rest of the Ar's in my house. Dont hesitate buy it before i do.

Very impessed! Seems to be high quality

I got to use this optic on a BCM AR15 in a charity match and was very impressed with it. We were engaging 6" or 8" plates from 250yds out to 326yds. The reticle was very easy to use and very accurate with the subtensions. The illumination was very crisp and clear as well. I am strongly considering this optic for my personal AR. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I don't have much time behind the optic. However, Primary Arms always has great customer service and super fast shipping

Buy this scope

Seems like a lot of reviews don't really review the item.
Here is my feeble attempt.

First off, the glass is clear. Vortex diamondback clear. Not us optics clear.
Eye relief is moderate and suits a fast firing use
The weight of the scope is not a huge issue as there are some weight savings in a quality mount.
Windage and elevation work correctly.
The acss reticle is awesome for fast fire.
The ranging and target lead are spot on. If you anticipate shooting something running then these will work for you. I bought the gen 3 scope just after it came out and the ar15 that it sits on has helped me take a bunch of coyotes
Running standing sitting. This scope will take the guesswork out of your ranging and help you put rounds on your target.
I would strongly recommend this scope

Great initial impressions, can't wait to shoot with it.

So far, so good with this scope. Glass seems to be clear enough presenting the rifle out in the back yard. It doesn't have a completely true 1x (some SLIGHT magnification at 1 power) but is totally doable with both eyes open so long as you're looking more than about 5 yards ahead. Illumination is super bright even in the daylight; I wish there was an off button between each setting. Turret clicks feel solid and move with a positive, tactile click. Magnification ring moves smoothly with just the right amount of resistance. There's really no frills with this scope, it's all business with that ACSS reticle inside. Only time will tell with build quality, but with PA's warranty and this scope's rock solid reputation you can't beat it for the price. I cannot wait to take it to the range and try out the BDC.

Ok for the price.

The reticle is way better than I thought it would be. The new chevron allows for precise shooting. The scope is very clear but on 1x there is some washing around the outside of the glass. The illumination is useless on less than 4 even at night and there is no off between brightness settings. It is also very heavy. I would have gave 3 stars for the weight, but I knew before ordering it, and it's on par with other scopes in its class. I'm kind of disappointed due to the build I put it on because I spent a good bit extra $ on keeping it light weight.

Best Value in Rifle Glass, Bar None

Took this to CMP Talledega a few days ago and I'm pretty impressed. For under $300 I don't think anything else can compete with this scope. Sure it isn't perfectly 1x, there is a little distortion around the edge and it isn't the lightest but you'd be hard pressed to find anything under $500 that aces any of that. Shooting at 100yds got boring very quickly it was so easy. The reticle was dead on at 200 and 300 yards. Pushing out to 600 with 55gr I noticed the reticle was a little off but the fact that I was hitting in 18" by my third shot says something about how easy this reticle is to use. For me this scope beats the Strike Eagles in clarity alone. I'm going to be considering PA Optics a lot more now.

Scope

Great scope, well made and works perfect with my AR 15 & 308. Fast delivery by Primary Arms.

Anticipating first trip to the range.

I have been researching the PA 1x6 gen 3 for many days now. After viewing YouTube reviews and engaging in other research with little to no negative results I decided to order the scope. I am eagerly awaiting its arrival and getting it to the range for zeroing and testing. I use Hornady 75 gr and Corbon 69 gr OTM for my defense loads from a Sig Sauer 516 patrol rifle gen 2 upper 1/7 twist 16" barrel with a Surefire Warcomp flash hider. The lower has a Giesele SSA trigger. I can't wait to get to the range lol. Range report forth coming.

Great Price, Decent Quality

I am giving this scope a 5 star rating simply because of its value. I personally recommend this scope and would buy one again if I ever part from it in the future. Its not as high quality as a Viper Vortex PST, but its close. Pictures in the link...
