This Primary Arms red dot sight is part of the SLx optics line. SLx optics have built a reputation for innovation, reliability, and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Microdot, Removable Base, Advanced sight (MD-RB-AD) takes everything learned from the best selling MD-ADS microdot and refines it a step further. The Primary Arms Advanced Micro Red Dot Sight features an estimated 50,000 hours of battery life from the included CR2032 battery, powering an ultra-sharp 2 MOA dot. Fully multicoated lenses and an ultra-low profile emitter ensure a clean sight picture with minimal lens tint. Eleven brightness settings are controlled by the rotary knob on the right side. The first two settings are compatible with night vision units and cannot be seen by the naked eye. The brightest settings are daylight bright. The illumination knob physically stops at “0” with the red dot turned off.

Features:
  • 2 MOA red dot reticle with 11 brightness settings
  • Nightvision compatible
  • 50,000 hour battery life
  • Aluminum 6061 construction
  • Ceramic flat dark earth finish
  • Waterproof
  • Includes removable picatinny mount
  • Includes CR2032 battery
  • Lifetime warranty

Covered by the Primary Arms lifetime warranty, this red dot sight is designed for use on heavy recoiling firearms such as shotguns and is constructed of 6061 aluminum with a Ceramic flat dark earth finish. Waterproofing is improved over previous models—for example, the turret caps are now aluminum instead of plastic and tighten down around the O-rings until metal-to-metal contact with the scope body. When removed, the turret caps can be used to adjust windage and elevation. It comes with a removable 1913 MIL STD Picatinny base. With the base removed, the scope body is compatible with industry standard micro mount systems, enabling The Advanced Red Dot to be mounted correctly on a wide variety of firearms.

Good bang for the buck.

Nice red dot for the price. Would be a 5 star, but lost 1 star because like some other reviews mentioned, the dial to turn the brightness up is insanely hard to rotate. It literally hurts my fingers trying to adjust it, and having to go past 2 settings of night vision first kinda stinks. The fde coating they used is real nice. Optic works just as it should. Goes nice and bright Turret caps act as a flat head to make adjustments without tools. Everything you need in a red dot for a budget price tag.

Great value

Got this to put on an 870 I had recently drilled, tapped and put a rail on. It had a plain bead and wanted to jazz it up to be more enjoyable for my kids. Got it mounted and zeroed no problem. Put about 15 or so slugs through it and it held up fine and seems very well made, especially for the price. Not really a complaint but it’s worth mentioning that the brightness dial is one way only. So from the off position you need to cycle through several settings to get to a usable dot, for daytime use anyway. Comes with a little bikini lens cover which was nice. Would absolutely buy again.

Small and compact, maybe a little too small for rifle

Bought it for the compact size and fitment, planned for AR-15, it sat too low, so hade to buy a 3/4-1” riser mount, which worked out good. Good quality dot, clear glass, i like it, could've gotten a 25mm for less $ with riser mount included, but wasn't a "color" option.

Can't Beat It

Bought this sight to go on an FDE Mossberg Shockwave SBS build and it doesn't disappoint! Not a ton of red dots can handle the 12ga but it doesn't sweat it.

Will be buying another for another upcoming build.

Good Quality

If you want to save money, buy this. Durable, clear, and easy to adjust. It also takes very common batteries. Put on my BCM build and the optic is helping me get good grips. If you have a front sight post on your AR then you should get the riser mount 1/3 lower co-witness to go with it.

Good sight, but forget the warranty.

Lasted 3 years as a reliable sight on a casual plinker and occasional pest control .22 LR conversion upper. Then dot failed and would only stay on for a few seconds. Sent it back under warranty. When it came back "repaired", it was still exactly as it was when I sent it back. So, 4 stars for the sight, but I would only give their "lifetime warranty" service zero stars.

Great budget dot

by

I was looking for a budget micro red dot to throw on my Ruger 10/22. Nothing serious, just something that would work well. I came across this for $85 and knowing PA is putting out good optics I figured I couldn’t go wrong with it, especially for just a .22lr. I must say, after trying it out I am blown away by what I got for $85! You really can’t beat it for the price. Just as good as a Romeo 5 hands down. Has good glass (considering) and a nice crisp dot. My only complaint is I’d like to see the illumination knob on the other side and be able to turn it both ways instead of having to turn all the way through the dial to get to the brightest illumination. Other than that, it’s a solid red dot and would definitely recommend it. This is probably going to end up being my go to when I need a budget red dot for something.

Phenomenal Optic for the money

by

You’re just not going to get a better optic at this price point. The glass shocked me! It’s crystal clear and the dot is super sharp. The glass looks like it came out of a way more expensive optic. This is now my go to red dot. Only complaint is you should be able to turn the illumination dial counterclockwise from 0. But hey, for the price I really can’t complain about that. Primary Arms Optics are the way to go if you’re looking to save some money and still get a great optic.

Good compact affordable scope

Very compact clear and bright reticle has handled 150 rounds of 12 gauge including slugs
