This barrel is machined to a balanced heavy contour, offering a solid balance between rigidity and weight. The reliable pistol-length gas system ensures the rifle gets the right amount of gas to cycle even in adverse conditions, and the 1:7 twist rate is perfect for heavier, precision-oriented cartridges while remaining thoroughly functional with popular, less expensive bullet weights.

Gas port too small for suppressed subs

Port gauged at .086. Will not cycle subs with a standard back pressure can no matter what buffer and spring combination I tried. H, H1, H2, H3 with everything from a standard carbine spring all the way up to a Sprinco Red. Also tried A5H2 and A5H3 with a Sprinco green. Will cycle supers. Rosco says that this is the spec port size for that barrel.
So I gauged three other barrels.
Centurion - .095
Faxon - .100
Noveske - .108
All three will cycle subs suppressed with the right spring and buffer. Gas block alignment checked. Gas tube not obstructed and alignment checked. BCG is efficient with rings brand new and tight. No gas key issues. Also tried 190, 200 and 220 grain ammo with no luck. My suggestion is if you buy this to drill the port out to .100 if you are having issues with it cycling.

While I don't have thousands of rounds through this barrel I do have a few hundred of sub-sonic and supersonic ammunition of a few brands and have yet to have any issues. No adjustable gas block and using a Geissele Super 42 buffer setup. When shooting subs I used a more traditional can instead of a flow-through design and I am enjoying it very much. I highly recommend this barrel to those who want a reliable and accurate 300 BO build!
Sending back for chamber issues

Popped primers on 2/20 rounds, the rest were flattened. Hand fed 4 different types of ammo to check how they chambered, subs and supers, all ended up with rifling cuts on bullets almost all the way to the brass when bolt was closed. My guess is short chamber. Contacted Roscoe direct. They immediately responded with request for address for rma, but no rma so far so I'll be returning to PA. Pretty disappointed as my other Roscoe barrels in 5.56 are good shooters and they have a reputation for high QC. Shoulda just bought a Noveske.
Great barrel.. subpar for suppressing

Barrel arrived in great condition. Excellent price from primary arms. Shoots supers excellently, but struggles with subs. Rosco has the barrels gas ports dialed back to be more modestly recoiling, and as such makes it difficult to cycle reliably even with the added back pressure of a can. Not impossible to overcome, but will need additional components. Adjustable gas block, lighter buffer spring, heavier buffer, or some combination of these three items
