The Ruger American Rimfire Target is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 LR, built on a one-piece aluminum scope rail receiver with an 18-inch heavy threaded bull barrel and an OD Green composite stock.

The heavy 18-inch bull barrel provides increased rigidity and thermal stability over standard-contour barrels, sustaining accuracy through extended strings of fire without the vertical shift that lighter barrels exhibit as they heat up. The 1/2x28 threaded muzzle with included thread protector accepts suppressors and muzzle devices directly. No iron sights are included or needed — the factory-installed one-piece aluminum Picatinny scope rail spans the full receiver length for a wide range of optic mounting options and eye relief positions. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger is externally adjustable for pull weight without removing the action from the stock. The 70-degree bolt throw keeps optics clearance manageable and cycling fast. Power Bedding — a V-shaped integral bedding block — provides a consistent receiver-to-stock interface without pillars or bedding compound. The tang safety is positive and conveniently located. The OD Green composite stock features sling swivel studs front and rear. One 10-round BX-1 rotary magazine is included.
