If you are looking for a lightweight AR-15 handguard but don’t want to sacrifice strength, then check out the Sons of Liberty Gun Works EXO3 rail. This 9.5” free float handguard features M-LOK attachment slots down the sides and bottom and has angled slots for attaching offset lights. It also has a full length picatinny top rail that indexes with M4 flat top upper receivers to ensure it is flush and won’t rotate over time. It locks to the upper receiver with an aluminum barrel nut and steel hardware. This M-LOK handguard is made from 6061-T6 aluminum and has a type III hardcoat anodized finish for long term wear and corrosion resistance. At 9.5”, this rail will cover most carbine length gas systems with low-profile gas blocks. The SOLGW EXO3 handguard is a great option if you are planning on building a short carbine or simply just upgrading from your old rail.

Outstanding handguard. The EXO3 itieration has a steel barrel nut versus the aluminum one that came with the EXO2. I think that's the only difference, or at least the biggest one. Once everything is lined up and tightened down, it may as well be part of the upper receiver. There was no flex or wiggle whatsoever. The lockup on this is tighter than a nun's pussy. It's lightweight and made from quality materials. SOLGW takes their work seriously and it shows. Even this handguard being a more "budget-friendly" option has a better final fit than some other setups that cost two or three times as much. You typically don't find this quality at this price point. Hats off to SOLGW, they have some of the absolute best stuff on the market. Anywhere. They are truly in the business for every day people and don't have time for the snobbery some other companies cater to.
